    Hello and welcome.
  6. It wont be healing yet as the mites will still be dying. Once they are dead, the mess left by the mites will fall off over the next few weeks
  7. CONGRATULATIONS on your very own home!!! I love that ad where they say "I own a tree, I have never owned a tree before" - SOO TRUE! It's all yours and you can do what ever you want to it When a home is your own, no matter how it looks when you arrive, i find you love and care for it in a way so different to a home that is owned by someone else Make it your own by redecorating in fresh colours and materials that suit you. Plant your favorite plants in the garden. We are on our second home and I have found the most important thing about making it feel like ours, is getting rid of the previous owners smell. repaint walls, clean/replace carpets. scrub bathrooms and kitchens etc. If you are really worried about crooks, get a big dog - most crooks will avoid houses with a big dog, and they make you feel a lot safer on those long nights when you cant sleep because something has spooked you. When you let your budgies out, keep toilets and bathrooms shut. be careful of large furniture and the fridge as budgies can fall behind and get stuck. Be cafeful of windows as they will fly into them. It is often best to bird proof a room and let them fly in there. I am so happy for you and your new home!! I hope you settle in quickly and enjoy every bit of what is now YOURS!!
  8. Because of some bonding in the aviary, i have decided to reshuffle my pairs slightly to allow some of the bonded pairs to remain together. The new pairs are as follows
  9. Don't worry, that's normal male (budgie) behavior
  10. How frustrating SW ! Here is a link to system restore FAQ ---> HERE I hope you can find your answer. Hardware drivers can be a pain in the butt when they malfunction. Have you got your latest windows service pack?? that may solve a number of your issues
  11. I have heard of Ivermectin oral too. This vet (Dr Pin) seems to be one who does things differently to most vets - He sounds very talented and I will try him out next time one of mine get sick.
  12. breeding with budgies infected with the mites will pass it to the babies who will then develop it as adults I would advise you invest in a net - doesn't have to be an expensive bird one - i use a toy butterfly net that came with my kids bug play set you could probably get one from a bargain store Your clever at making thigs - you could probably make one with some coat hanger wire, some sheer curtain material and some dowel wood for the handle
  13. You will not get any blue budgies from green (yellow based) budgies unless they are split to blue. If you want blue (white based) budgies you need to get some blue parents

haha. They are still at it - I will let them stay together as they are very bonded now (not only at the rump) he is preening her and chatting her up and she is accepting. It's the first time i have seen her with a male so lets hope she calms down and becomes a good mum too
  15. haha thanks Neat, - geek is me !! Do a system restore to a date well before you got the virus. this will reset/delete all programs that have been installed or changed in that time. In your start menu, click "help and support". A blue window will open and click on "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore" Follow the prompts and your computer will shutdown, restore and restart - it takes about 30 mins to do depending on your computer. It will not remove or damage any saved files. Also note that a restore can be undone again if needed Hope it works.
  16. So cute!! looks like they are both having a ball ps, they are both looking more and more like hens to me
  17. :hap: I hate viruses!!!!!!! Thanks for the warning Elly.
  18. Has she seen the others eat their seed??? She may not recognise it as food.
  19. you need to aply the oil twice a day for about 3-5 days, then repeat in about 2 weeks to kill any hatching eggs. Are you using a net to catch your birds? 2 hours would be very stressful for your poor hen
