Joint Breeding
I have just borrowed a lacewing cock from a friend and this is the first time I have used someone else's bird in my breeding. I was just curious as to how you decide who will get what when the babies hatch?

Fledging Chicks
I put a dish of seed that is easily accessable to the babies on the floor of any cage I have babies in. Even when I first put them into the aviary, in case they have problems perching on the feeder. Thanks Kaz

Fledging Chicks
Ditto - I am always concerned when babies are getting close to fledging and I have a cabinet with babies getting close now. I havent done this enough times yet to feel comfortable with cabinet fledging babies.

Buying Budgies
Budgiegirl, Liv lives north of Adelaide and I live South. Neither of us have babies to sell right now, but in a couple of months, we both will. If you are still looking at that time, I am sure one of us would be happy to help you

I have learned a lot about genetics and sexing (and still learning more all the time), nutrition and what to feed my birds and LOTS about breeding (which is my current learning curve).

Baby Butcher Bird
I think most of us would have tried to do the same thing. I have no advice, I just want to say it was a nice deed and good luck!

Happy Baby Budgies
Not only was this post great for the great pics, but it was really good to actually see the wild grasses you feed your budgies. I dont know much about them and often see those grasses along the side of the road and think of picking them for the budgies. In future, I think I will stop and do just that

Pairing In The Breeding Cabinet
They look absolutely gorgeous! My next bunch should fledge in the next week or so I guess, the middle baby is already popping out of the nest box, twice in last 24 hours (too young). With this cabinet breeding I am still unsure how to go with this. How long do you put dad in the kindy cage for, morning and night? I guess you wait till you see they are all eating on their own before they get to this stage?

Gracie And Darius
Some more updated pics. I wanted to post this mostly to ask about the blue baby! I was really surprised yesterday when I was showing my fiance the babies and he pointed out the blue on the youngest! I thought two greys should only have greys? Anyway, your opinions on the blue baby would be much appreciated. I added updated pics of the other two just to show their development Baby 1 - YF Grey spangle (hen?) Sorry the back shot of this one is blurry, but Im sure you get the idea Baby 2 - Grey spangle (hen?) I know the leg ring is poopy I did scrape some of it off AFTER the picture- doh lol Baby 3 - Sky blue spangle? (hen?)
