So I decided I would take a couple of pictures to add to this post so you could see the pairs I have been referring too, and if you believe in fate........ I took pics of Dharma and Tibet, the blues and their baby. The pics of the baby all came out blurry for some reason, and I feel I have bothered them enough today, so I will try for pics of the baby in a day or two. I also took a picture of Nirvana and Suki and then I went to take a picture of their baby and.......there was no baby!!! I felt the panic in my heart and frantically looked on the cabinet floor. I found the baby and it was still alive and warm, so I put it back with mum and dad. I have checked a few times since and baby is alive and well and I think it was on the floor by accident, but I will be keeping an eye on things just to make sure. I didnt bother mother further by taking pics of this baby either, but here are the parent pictures Dharma Tibet Nirvana and Suki- Lily And Jack
Baby one and two should be fledging, so due to the nest box being fairly full and these two babies being fully feathered, I have taken them out and on Kaz's advice, made them a icecream container "nest" with seed and millet in it for them to pick at. They are already perching on the edge of the icecream container! I am cautiously excited that I think both these babies have cinnamon on their wings. Dad is being a little excitable, he is young and this is his first clutch and he is trying to work out why he has these other "people" in his cabinet I think. He hasnt been aggressive, but a little frustrated, so I am keeping a close eye on these guys too. One of my rainbow babies died, due to the parents just stopping feeding them, so I fed the other one then put it with this family, which is why their box is a bit full It is doing very well with its new family I am happy to say Baby One Baby Two The babies perching on their new "nest" (you can see the white baby climbing up in the back corner)- Patience
I have expressed my interest in the Kaz's torches, that is why I am not rushing off to buy something else- Patience
We totalled 6 eggs. The first was due last Sunday and I checked several times, but I know quite often they are not hatched for a day or two after the due date. Nothing Sunday. Monday morning, I checked again and there was a baby with half the shell off and it was dead in the other half of the shell I have no light to test whether the eggs are fertile or not (yet), so back to the waiting game. Nothing Tuesday BUT I have a gorgeous, healthy beanie in the nest this morning and it looks like its been fed I also have another pair who were due on the same day as the blues, my beautiful Nirvana and his girlfriend Suki and they hatched their first today also. I lost one of my rainbow babies the other day and then finding the first blue baby dead - well I was a bit bummed. Amazing how quickly the birth of a new baby can brighten your spirits though :D- New Aviary
Nice aviary! I think the bird is very gorgeous though :D- A Cinnamon And A ?
I have nothing of any clarification to add, but I just wanted to say I think theyre adorable- Lip And Len
Well, I should have a nest full of lacewings according to the pair I put down, but so far they are all looking like inos to me!! Theyre all still gorgeous all the same lol I too will have "real" lacewings one day :D- Aviary Trial
Good to hear they are all settling well to their changes. I am sure Scooter and Latte will love aviary life. Scooter sure has come a long way hasnt he!! - At This Rate Neat Will
