Ice-Skating
Glad you had a great dad Flippy, last time I ice skated was when I was in my late 30's and lasted one second and broke my arm it was black and blue from finger tips to my shoulder. Decided I needed both arms to raise my boys so I gave up my ice skating career, lol much to dangerous for me. oh I bet you enjoyed being Santa what a frill.

Wild Budgies In Florida
Interesting , but would there have been different varieties of wild budgies or did they release varieties that they bred up, only asking because I didn't think there were any other varieties in the wild except normal green and maybe opaline but then I think from memory if any other mutation was bred they died very fast because of predators.

Advice Requested.
I would try him again, you could try 2 things if he does destroy the eggs. Most times when cocks destroy eggs is because they keep going in the nest box and trampling the eggs and breaking them. the first thing you could do is just let him in with the hen for a few hours a day and take him out for the majority and once the hen has laid around 5 eggs take him away and let the hen raise them but then you may need foster parents handy to help . second you can replace the eggs with false eggs or marbles and most times once they work out they can't break them they will leave them be. thirdly you can foster the eggs once laid , that's if you have foster parents. these are things I do. Good luck with him Robyn but I would give him a second chance.

Aviary Floor
I can't see why not as it is natural but you will still have to clean it weekly or so. If you put branches in there them leaves will fall to the floor anyway. Make sure you get safe gum tree leaves etc eucalyptus would be the easiest to identify. plus it meant to a natural remedy for illness and helps to keep the birds healthy.

I'm Busy.... Four Budgies In The Hospital Cage
Sorry to hear that your birds are a bit under the weather, I don't seem to bad. Is it chuba chub with the rat eaten tail. Is there a whole in the floor where it came up or are you guess. Just that I have had birds with blood from one end to the other in the aviary but it is from blood feathers, Yes I I have had them bleed heavily from the tail. and head. But if you think rats and mice get in I would cement too with out delay. Anyway I hope your little buddies get better soon.

How To Make A Home Made Photo Cage
Hi all I thought i would show you how to make a photo cage for next to nothing. My cage, I have a couple of them, in differing sizes, are made from Twilweld mesh (bird wire) not to light though, held together by plastic cable wire The perch is best placed diagonally in the cage from left front to right back, or have a revolving perch set-up to give more flexibility. I think my first one is about 14 inches square, but you can make it any size but not to small. With mine I made the door large so I could frame the photo with my SLR but now that I have a Canon Compact and the lens will fit in the wire the next cage I make I will make it a few inches deeper and just a normal little door for the bird to in. They are easy to make, once you have joined all sides you need to cut the wire at the back on top for you coloured card t or paper to slide in. Any questions please ask, have fun making one.
