Around here Macka the pet shops sell off the green ones cheap, sometimes as low as $10.00 just to get rid of them. And it doesn't matter if they are pied , spangle or what ever, for some reason green birds don't sell very well. But the other colours always stay at the $20.00 or what ever they are asking.

I have culled good hens and much better than this one because they have thrown me ****. Not because anything is wrong with them but if they don't click they go.
  4. That's what happened with my lutino cock, I got a grey wing and he was a ripper but I culled him off because I am not breeding them. I bought my lutino for my clearbodies and grey wing is out of teh question, sold the lutino cock last month and now I am sorry I did , you should see his daughter , very nice.

But you still need plus a bit of luck picking up the right birds. Kaz I think I am coming over in June/July my sons are nagging me so I think I need to take the leap and go. So I will see what I have spare for you probably not much the way I am going but you never know. That's if you are even interested in my birds though

LOL I don't think so Dan, I haven't bred the birds, bad year last year and this year but praying for better results next year. I lost most of my best nest this year. My sky is looking great but he is going to be flecked and the spangle is looking smashing too but so far slight flecking, they are still moulting. The sky might not grow his tail back yet, story of my life.

Intermediate class is hard so I have been told, lol, some one told me the other day when I was having a whinge that open is easier than intermediate, I am sure they were trying to make me feel better, lol. I only got to spend the 12 months in Intermediate and only got to show 2 local shows and the unbroken cap show. Uugghh open now. I am sure you will have some quality birds to show next year Dan.
  10. I would be happy with that result to Phil. Nice birds. Every bird i have bought from auction has being a total waste of money.
  11. So you are saying it has a yellow face right, well then it would be a yellow face dom pied, really need a closer photo of the bird to comment on any more
  12. If you think that is the case just keep giving them silverbeet and carrot and leaves if you have them, both are high in Vitamin A. grate the carrot if they don't eat it whole. I actually haven't seen a budgie that won't eat silverbeet and even the fussiest ones will eat carrot if offered all the time. Birds that have never had ever will take their time about eating them but will in the end. Peas fresh or frozen are good in vitamin A also.
  13. Did you go to an avian vet or a normal vet, normal vets don't know enough about birds. Did the vet say why he thought he was sneezing. I have had birds sneeze and it was nothing. But your bird looks a bit wet on the mask too, is he still eating? It is probably nothing but I would put him on some broad spectrum antibiotics if he doesn't improve soon, he may have a cold, but his mask is wet so it might be a bit more serious, is he vomiting too. I have a bird here at the moment who has clear bubbles in his nostrils when he breathes and has staining above the cere, I think it is sinus infection, I have him on moxiT it is a prescription drug from Rob Marshall it is for staining above the cere like sinusitis and other things. But notice my bird does not have a wet mask.
  14. Some nice babies there Dave and as Dan said looks like plenty of hens too.

My whinge for the day, I blew Gregs drill up (burnt the motor out )and now have to buy him a new one. But what really is my whinge is that the hardware store has a special and it is for a black and decker 18 volt with 2 batteries and a 50 piece extra bonus for $89.00 . Well as soon as the "Home cat" came out I rushed down there to get 2 , one for Greg for Chrissy and one for me , seems I am always using the drill. Well they had none. I have been waiting for 2 weeks now and still no drills. They reckon they got 4 in which is very doubtful. Any I rang Numurkah and they had one so I rushed over there and at least Greg gets his drill but I guess I miss out and will have to burn this one out for him too But anyway the drill is worth $150.50 normal price so I am thinking the hardware store is to scabby to get them in at that special price. I actually reckon I saw them under the counter and they are just not selling them for that price, so annoyed. Oh the hardware store here offered me a special on the exact same drill without the extras for $120.00 normally it sells for $139.00 but still a rip off. $30.00 more than the special I am after and no extras. Well that's my whinge.

Very nice Dan, you must be pleased. I like them all but the but the yellow is really nice, I think it is because I am partial to them but can never breed one worth keeping.
  20. Thanks Dan we consider that next show, start taking those photos.
  21. looks grey to me, the rump is a good indicator and from the photo it looks to be grey so I would say a grey dilute
