Sonrisa And Co.updated 12/2/07!
Sonrisa has been coming out of the nesting box for most of the day now and chewing on millet and some seed, also dipping her beak in the water. Pie also came out today but is less confident and will quickly jump back in the nesting box.All are growing well still and loving the food.Sonrisa is very affectionate and loves her cuddles before bed time,or maybe its just me that loves the cuddles.(Laughing out loud)

Sonrisa And Co.updated 12/2/07!
The small one JJ is from a different mum,her mum is lutino and dad is split for lutino thats what makes me say lutino. Both the mum's were fighting that's why I had to take them away. They don't seem to care that they are not related and sonrisa feeds JJ.I don't think I will be able to let these three go far from me,I am so in love.

Sonrisa And Co.updated 12/2/07!
Thanks Karen I am going to have to do that today as these photos show how messy they are! Sonrisa is the worst because she flicks everywhere, even all over the other twos heads. They were so cute this morning as they now associate me with food and when they see my face thay put there little baby wings out and beg for food. Here is pie with full crop."oh mum not when I'm dirty!" Here is JJ with full crop and dribble on beak.(Laughing out loud) Another lutino,JJ is just opening its eyes. Lets snuggle for siesta after breakfast! "mum,we are still dirty!what will people think?" If we hide under here maybe the camera will disappear. okay Pie I"ve had enough I'm going back home. Wait for me! Any ideas on sex/mutation etc.

Sonrisa And Co.updated 12/2/07!
Everything is going well and they are all feeding well but they are really messy eaters. The smallest one is easy to clean as it has no feathers yet but the other two get food on them and then its hard to get off.Would it be okay to give them a bath in luke warm water or do you guys have any suggestions.Thank you for your support.

Sonrisa And Co.updated 12/2/07!
well here are the photos and hopefully a video if I can work it.So happy that all three babies are eating and they are all eating at the same time now.Except the smaller one has a few more feeds than the older two. Here they are in the nesting box which I feed them in now as they seem to like this better. Here is the video of sonrisa taking her first food from the spoon. This was 11:30pm last night and hubby was woken up with the good news.(Laughing out loud) http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q239/wpr72/sonrisaandco/ Video is a bit dark sorry about that. I hope this link works, first time I have done it. Will keep you updated. :feedbirds:

Help!aviary Fight,babies Injured!
Thanks for the support guys.Today the middle size baby ate properly for the first time off a spoon and it helped the children at work eat their lunch as they saw it eating,The biggest one still wont accept much food and has also been trying to feed the smaller babies,it is so cute to see but I am worried about this one(sonrisa). Will try and post some pics tomorrow.Have found if I leave them in the nesting box and put spoon through hole that they feed much better.Another trick I learnt today. The kids made me promise to bring the babies back tomorrow.(Laughing out loud)

Help!aviary Fight,babies Injured!
fed babies at 2:30am,still have the mothers ears for babies crying.(Laughing out loud) Then again this morning.Little pink baby is taking food well and I tricked the other two by bringing my daughters budgie out and they took some food off a spoon thinking it was him.It is pretty hot here during the day so I won't need a heater for them at work.Going to be a busy day.

Help!aviary Fight,babies Injured!
Good news just tried the babies again and the smallest one can't get it fast enough.the other two took small amounts but they still have some food in their crops.Yes I can take them to work which is good.I work at a child care centre and they are use to me bringing in animals. They all are doing well and are next to my bed for the night time feeds. Have been using a thermometer to make sure water is not to hot. Thanks for all the help guys.

Poppy!
Some of you guys have seen poppy before.He/she has grown into a bhandsome/beautifull budgie. Do you still think he is a boy and I wasn't sure what type of blue he would be classed as. Here he is fluffed up!! Here he is with Chippy this photo doesn't show his true colour as it was taken with a flash. His wing colour isn't dark but it isn't cinnamon either although mum has cinnamon gene. Any thoughts have fun....

Help!aviary Fight,babies Injured!
I hope this is in the correct place.I came home and as usuall I went straight to the aviary to check on the babies. There I found Snowflakes two babies with their heads pecked, one with wing pecked and feathers every where. So I picked them up and turned to go out when I saw Fluro's baby on the ground. Took all three inside and carefully checked them out.Fluro's baby was unmarked but had an empty crop, wgich is very unusual for her.The bigger two babies both had feathers missing on their heads but no blood.Smaller one had blood on its left wing.I applied cornflour to the spot on wing and this has helped. Here is the problem,I couldn't leave the babies in the aviary obviously as they would eventually get killed, have no large spare cages to put mum with babies etc.Have babies in incubating tank together in nesting box and the bigger two aren't feeding.Smaller one took some rearing food off a spoon and crop filled up. I have to work tomorrow and thursday so can't get to vet till saturday. The rearing mix seems very runny when I make it to the instructiions,is this normal. It is the woombaro type.I also have some egg and biscuit mixture but this has no instructions on how to make it up.Any help from you experienced people would be great.I also have some poly-aid plus which is a supplement,do you think this would help the babies? P.S.will be purchasing breeding cages if I breed next year. thank you
