She is such a beautiful bird.I have used tunnelling aswell but it hasn't worked for all birds,it is worth a try though.It takes time though.Good luck,I'm sure if you persist you will be rewarded she looks like she has lots of personality in the photo.

Well guys Sonrisa has flown for the first time yesterday arfternoon.Here are the photos of her first big flight. She eventually landed on my daughters head. And her she is walking towards me after the fight.It was the cutest thing,like she was coming to tell me all about it.

HI Daz,I thought there would be more down aswell.Have got calcium powder but how do I increase the protein,not sure on how to do this.JJ hatched on the 18th of January so that makes it only 18 days old.I am sure tweety was fluffier even though in this picture he was older.

Here are some new photos of the gang.JJ is growing fast with lots of yellow feathers getting longer every day.JJ also thinks its as big as the other two and gets out of the nesting box to sit on the branch and flaps its wings too. Here is sonrisa(back) and pie,most of their feathers that were plucked are growing back now.Pie has the fluffiest head and big round eyes.Do you guys think Pie might be a boy? Can you scratch my head guys? Thanks!!!! Oh that was nice. Sonrisa is eating seed every day now and doesn't want as much handrearing formula,she does like it for breakfast though.

Thanks for the reply and it sounds like great advice.Will be going to local show this sunday and hopefully meeting Daz from this forum and get the chance to look at different birds.

If someone was to start showing budgerigars and therefor breeding them to try and improve birds,how and what would you need? There seems to be so much infomation to absorb,where do you start? Do you breed show birds with show birds or are there times when you don't.What equipement would be essential.What are stock birds?What do you guys suggest?

Thanks guys,all the sleepless nights are worth it when you see their precious little faces and see how beautiful they are becoming. Pie has a new nickname Piggy as it will eat and eat until it is so full that when you pick it up the food comes back up.I have to watch how much I feed it.Pie will just beg for food all day and night.

Here are some photos of Sonrisa looking out of the nest box.She actually came out and did an entire lap of the cage and then went back in. Here is Poppy investigateing the threesome getting fed. Don't think I like the look of that spoon! So Poppy decided he would go see Chippy for some love and grooming!! Sonrisa and Pie sitting pretty on branch in their cage.Look at us Mum we're big birds now! Here is JJ with his cute yellow lutino feathers growing longer and longer every day. Just put the camera down and feed me mum!!! Sonrisa feeds both he smaller babies so I was thinking she may be a good foster mum when she is older.She even chased Poppy and Chippy out of her cage this afternoon with lots of grumpy budgie sounds and biting.It was so cute because when we come near she will just jump on your hand and cuddle for scratches.
