  9. oh I am so sorry for you and tiki, and I hope she gets better very soon. Another tip I was given by an avian vet was to place a lamp with a 40 watt bulb over her box to keep a constant heat. although I found the 40 watt got a bit too hot so at night I replaced it with a 25 watt, so it would not overheat the bird and also I was afraid the 40 watt might cause a fire (while we were sleeping) Best of luck Bea, I am thinking of you Yes it always happens when the driver is not home. Cindy
  10. Thanks Daz. The second one looks a pale grey and other times a deeper grey/blue. All I now is she should be named scnappi the crocodile Cherie

Thank you Daz. I think it's time I give up Breeding, it is getting harder for me to tell male from female lately. It's been so hot here over the last two days, we put all 11 babies inside in the Air conditionieing, and carried the Breeding cabinet with Chook and her 6 newbies into the spare flat for air conditioning ,and did those babies start singing . :dbb1: instead of panting. (Boy I spoil my babies Cherie

This baby is 5 weeks and 2 days old and one of 11 birds that have similar coloured ceres, some a lot darker than others I cannot see any white or blue circles around nostrils. and I have a few people wanting males from this lot, I was hoping to put males in a seperate cage , but cant tell them apart, except for two of them and they are females. Cindy
  19. Thanks Karen. If I did not know any better I'd say they were crossed with an eagle:(Laughing out loud): . I've had big babies before (not me, the birds I mean) but these appear to be bigger, or maybe its the colour that makes them seem big. Cindy
  20. that one will be a stunner Cindy
  21. Thanks everone. I think I might leave it for another week if i can. Karen the Nest box is a fixture to the breeding cabinet, so I cant see how I could replace it with a larger one. I not that clever worse luck Cindy

Thank goodness they are feeding the baby again. Good luck Cindy
  23. Hi Chooks 6 babies are only 2 weeks old but getting rather large and their nesting box seems to be a bit too small. Is it safe to move them, and parents, to a larger breeding cabinet with a bigger nest box that iis attached to it. I'm not sure if Mum would be happy with that, so i need your input Cindy
  24. Oh what a lovely looking bird. You should get some nice babies from them Cindy
  25. Great pics. I can just hear their flapping and flopping when they forget to open their wings. It's a lovely sight to behold Cindy
