bushfires.. If you had time, and spare cages you could take them inside away from the smoke. BUT if your house was in danger as well, you would need a vacuation plan, but what? sometimes in Australia you dont get enough warnings with the way our winds suddenly change direction. It is a big dilema Cindy
  8. I'm guess, 1, 3 and 5..Probably 100% wrong Cindy :hap:

Nerwen, I know this is common sense but can you put in 'remove old food daily". Why, you might ask, is that I had a call asking me to explain the behaviour of someones bird, and after a lenghty coversation, he had left an apple that was almost rotten in in the cage as the bird was getting upset when they tried to remove it. The result was that the poor bird was drunk as the apple had fermented. Also not to give birds apple seeds. Cindy

No Lovey, it just appears his wing feathers are a lot shorter than the other birds. They look perfectly formed, only very short. When you open his wings out the longest part is not as long as my husbands thumb. Otherwise he's normal and loves it when he is outside his cage, running across the top of it, until he decides he wants to fly. You should see all the packing we have around in case he falls Cindy

Ahhh! Thanks Bubbles. Maybe it was attacked while we were away, even though it was just one night. I was sure it could fly before then, but as they were all alike, I just thought I must have been letting the wrong one out again. Is there any special tonic I could give him that would help Cindy

Crikey, what a stupid pet shop. I had one similar to yours and my local pet shop couldn't wait until he was old enough for them to take him. But I must admit there is another pet store not too far from here that only take them if they cannot get any other colour and sell them for $8 whereas they sell all the others $40 for babies and $30 for older birds. They will only pay you $5 no matter what type you have. I would not ever sell to them Cindy

:hap: They are just as full of mischief as Blinkie too. One of the little (or not so little) babies likes nothing better than to get down you shirt, and boy do I have some lovely scratch marks on my chest from trying to get him to come out. Cindy

This is picture of my baby that will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. I was wondering why he would suddenly drop down after flying about 1 metre (or 3 feet). It was not until I saw him in flight with his siblings that I noticed he had a much smaller wing span. It looks like he has been clipped (but has not been) and has no long flights Is he a 'walker' or do you think they will grow? Cindy
