Meet 'squeak"
I thought you would all like to see how Aaron's baby with the turned in feet is going (see Aaron's Post 5th Dec under health questions) We named him "Squeak' as he has this cute little habit of squaeking when he is flying, it seems to come from the corner of his beak, but really sounds like he need anoil and grease change. He is the most adorable little thing. Has a bit of trouble landing on top of the cage as his little feet appear to go down between the wires, so he is learning to do 'belly-fops' when he wants to land on the cage. (He is not a big bird, I've just got very skinny arms)

Unusual Colour
Thanks, seafoam greens sounds nice and yes she does have a yellow wash over her body, and occassionally you can see a tad of blue on her chest, her tail feathers are yellow, and the markings on her wings are not a distinct black more like a dark grey. I know she is a girl as she has drawn blood since she was in the nest. Poor Aaron's finger was sore for over a week. and i have a nice 'love bite' on my nech and a bandaid on several fingers:devil: Cindy

Avairy Full Of Dead Budgies
Kerrie, I don't think you will get into any trouble as the RSPCA will take your side. Also, are you sure the people have gone away and that they are not inside, too ill to do anything. (it does happen a lot) If anyone knows their name try phoning and if no answere, ask the police to check that are are not home and in distress. I have had to do just that, once, the police were very nice to me and when they checked the poor owner was on his bed too ill to move. So please check that out before throwing blame. If they okay, well then blame them all you want and with my blessing Cindy

The Fostered Babies
When Aaron had to lose his birds, I took into my care his breeders that were on eggs. They hatcged shortly after and the last onw hatched on Dec 26, sadly that one died the same day. These pics are not very clear as it was 40 degrees c. when I took them and did not want to cause further stress to them No.1 No.2 The colour is not quite right, he/she is a very pale greeny shade No.3 No.4 Mum Dad & Mum The Family Sadly when babies are old enough they will have to be sold, but the proceeds will go to Aaron as he did all the hard work, I am just the foster mum. Sad Day
What a lovely way to end one year and start another, with you and your bird both very happy again, and still in love with each other. Cherie
-
Thank You
It certainly is Phoebe. Good news too, Aaron's breeders have hatched 5 since he brought them over here, sadly the last one died the day he hatched. I think the 'bully' first one (9 days older) may have sat on him. But the others are all going well. His little one from a previous clutch that was born with twisted feet, is into all sorts of mischief (his sister was the one we named 'floppy'. It certainlt is a family forum. Cherie

Sad Day
Oh the poor little fellow. Have you tried puting a low wattage lamp over his cage, with a cover over it to keep the warmth in? He might settle on a towel or something soft then, as he will warm and cosy

Poor Oscar

Thank You
I dont know where to actually put this post, so feel free to move it. This is to say a big thank you to all the members of this forum who offered help when Aaron had to relocate all his budgies ( see Budgies for Sale - Urgent) I cannot remember when I have had so many emails and PM's offering to help out. All his birds and quails are now in the safe hands of Reneeb. Once again Thank You everyone Cindy

 :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): Oh dear, I can just see Chico trying to eat you for breakfast. I've no idea how long it will take (can't remember) but I know it feels like forever. Good luck with him. Maybe that was the problem with Lucky. Cindy

Nathan1, you have just made my blood boil. It is time you grew up. (I can say that as I'm old enough to be your great gran ,almost) This forum is for people to talk and boast about their darling budgies and they are proud of their birds, and love them.
