  1. Raibow and Bluey have their 2nd clutch of eggs, so far the total is 8. Her last clutch was 6 - all survived Can they handle 8 if they all hatch (1st due 1st July). Blondie is sitting on 4. 1. Sould I take some eggs from Rainbow and put with Blondie? 2. Should I wait to see how many hatch, then put some with Blondie 3. Leave well enough alone any advice will be appreciated. I've having a 24/7 mental blank lately. ` (Put my brain somewhere safe and forgot where I put it) Cindy
  2. Thanks WoodieCloud315, I do put her in her sin bin, but I had water and seed in ther, so I'll remove those and see how she goes. Funny thing is that she does not bite any visitors, just kisses them ever so gently. Oh by the way Karen, I would not give her away, even though I feel like it at times. She does not play with the otherr 10 as they are out in the Aviary. But when new babies come along she has play time with them, teaches them all her tricks etc. I have tried several mates for her but she did not like any of them. Maybe she has a colour preference which we have not yet found. Cindy
  3. Thanks Sailorwolf, but that has been tried several times, and all it does for her, is that she flies to the other side and bites twice as hard. Nothing has been changed to her enviroment. It is getting to that stage that I feel like finding a new home for her - only problem is I'm too attached. Cindy

They are very lovely looking birds, Daz. Cindy
  5. How on earth do I get Tweetie back to being a nice tame bird? Lately she has been biting and actually drawing blood on my ears, eyes and cheeks and neck:angry:. She is in a heavy moult also very hormonal, her cere is almost chocolate brown. If you could see me now, you would all run a mile, I actually have the arms of my glasses in cotton gloves to deter her, but she just crawls under the loose finger and gets a beak full of flesh. Have tried blowing on her face, but she gets in such a position I cannnot get to her face to push up her beak. Any help for 'war victim' Cindy

:(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): You are lucky Tycho thinks he is just a lorikeet. My Tweetie thinks she is a crocodile at the moment . Likes taking big chunks out of me. I'm hoping it is only because she is in a heavy moult and a bit horney to boot. Never mated her, but maybe I willl have to. Cindy
  9. I am glad that all is okay. Thanks for sharing you good news Cindy

3 of Raibows and Bluey's babies appear to have trained themselves. We removed them from their parents about 4 days ago, and they automatically run to the cage door when anyone enters the room, and when you got to touch the door, they are on it. Then If your too slow putting your hand in and out, they come out, walk up your arms and sit on your shoulder. You can walk all around every room in the house and they just sit on you. And they actually sit there and let you pick then up from the back. I have never had birds this tame before. But they dont like going back to bed:P We hand raised tweetie from 3 weeks & 4days, (she is now 21 months old), but we can never pick her up or hold her, she will sit on you and step up etc, come when called, but we have never been able to hold her.

  14. She is a beautiful girl and i just adore her colours Cindy
  15. Thanks Daz, One has been out twice so far, and both are as big as Mom. Actually their heads seem rather large for their ages, but it might be my eyesight I hope they survive as I will be neglecting them a bit for a while - see off topic chatter Cindy
  16. Yes, that is Mom looking through the door, and the other greys have grey heads Lovey, so far they look identical, and both love to hide under the smaller siblings. I'm sure they are saying...."stuff you lot, we were here first" Cindy
  17. Are you sure he is not suffering from ADHD or just "I hate everythng' syndrome He sounds like my Sweetie also known as ''Godzilla' Cindy
  18. Thanks. Its a pity they would not stay still for the camera. I Think the 'twins' are going to be big birds, their heads are huge compared to the others I did not want to pick them up as I have a nasty head cold and was scared I might sneeze on them. and I don't think that would be very healthy for them. Cindy
  19. Well Georgie and Bruce had origanlly 6 eggs, one cracked as it was kicked out of the box, (egg No.5) and there were definately only five there. Well on the 21st April I noticed one broken egg shell at 7.30 AM and I saw a new baby exactly 18 days after it was laid. At 10 AM I checked again as it was a very cold day. there were 4eggs and two babies. To make sure I was not hallucinating, I asked some of the plumbers and electrician that were working here to check, and as I had numbered my eggs they notice 2, 3, 4, 6 were still there. I did not post this earlier as I wanted to wait until they were fully feathered to check their colours ad they look identical, white head, white wings with black markings, and grey under. Will try to get pics in a while The other four, two greys, one green , last one is yellow? he is not fully feathered yet Cindy here are the only pics i could get today Cindy
  20. No budgiebird, it is actually clean, just yucky, and sticky I have wiped her head 3 times today but you would not know it. It still looks like the picture Cindy
  21. It makes that process a bit difficult when they are biting you on the back of your neck, or worse still when they are sitting on your glasses and tryingto pluck you eyebrows and pull the skin with it :budgiedance: Now THAT does hurt How do you stop that? Other than giving her a smack around the chops (just kidding with that comment) Cindy
  22. :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): I thought the same thing, and actually she has got a fat head :(Laughing out loud): The feathers around that area are quite hard and sticky, so maybe you are right. And there is no bickering at all, he is very devoted to her. Cindy
  23. Here are some pictures I just took See if these can shed some light Cindy ooops. Sorry Mods, but this picture wont shrink. Photobucket keeps saying it is 384x288 Cindy
  24. okay can someone please explain what Bluey is doing to his Mrs (Rainbow) She is on eggs, 4 hatched so far. Since the first one was hatched Rainbow has a very wet spot on the back of her head, the area gets bigger with each new baby hatched. At first glance it looks like she had been plucked, but on closer examination, it is just really wet and the feathers are plastered down all around it, so she looks bald. No blood, no missing feathers. When we try to 'perve" on them in the box, they just look up as if to say, 'we're not doing anything". Today, I wiped her head dry and put some cornflour on it, in the hope it would stop whatever it is he is doing. This happened last time they had babies too. Any Ideas????? Is he feeding her the wrong way round? or is he getting excited (Uhmmm I hope you know what I mean by that) Cindy

My Budgies all love the Maleleuca Bush, leaves and branches. Even the Mumma birds will leave their eggs and baby chicks when they I put it in the breeding cages. (I'm sure they smell it coming) My untamed aviary birds will actually come and take it from my hands, but that is all they will come near me for. Even my little babies eat it. Cindy
