You might be lucky and call a local vet and ask if they have an avian specialist - I was lucky that way that the very vets that I had chosen for my cat & dogs also has an avian vet - I didn't know this when I first started going there. I simply phoned and asked - he isn't on that list either so I might mention it to him next time I need to see him

Sorry - I am from Ballarat but don't know of any crested budgie breeders around at all. It seems ages away but the Annual Aviculture sale is on in Ballarat on Sat 4th August. There might be some there that come from around your way. There was one in Geelong a couple of weeks ago Otherwise there is one in Melbourne (Preston area) This coming Sunday (29th Apr) local breeders might go down to that one as well, but its a bit far to travel on a maybe I don't recall seeing crested budgies at last years sale but then again I wasn't looking for them... I would love to know if you find one - I would love a crested!! Good luck

Awwww Pasteil

Last night I went to spend some time with the budgies in their little bedroom and I noticed they were sitting there all fluffy. I got Bobby to step up and his feet were freezing, so I popped him under my jumper to snuggle him warm! I thought there was no way that Bobby would let me do this, but there he stayed. I was sitting on the couch and he moved around a bit to find the perfect spot - then he snuggled up into my armpit and fell asleep He stayed there all evening and even let let me give him pats and head scratches!!! It was wonderful, a real bonding moment!!! Oh and I turned on the heating to warm the other guys up

That is fantastic! It is amazing when they start to repeat what you teach them!

I just wanted to say Mandy that you are an amazing person to take on these birds and give them the treatment that you have! If anything else you now have an aviary full of birds that will have such a great life now compared to what it looks like they have put up with so far. I can guarantee you will always have budgies from now on! Addictive little buggers they are! Welcome to the forum by the way

I also missed this last time and my aplogies - I have a budgie that had his leg caught in the cage door and suffered the same damage. When he first did it I thought his leg was dead, but after several weeks and several splints (he kept pulling them off silly boy) his leg is as good as new. Hi Ben - welcome!! I wish you luck in your persuit, I am sure you will have no trouble finding your ideal budgie!! Most of them fit that profile!
