I was trying to get some good group shots of all the birds together (I will show you those ones a bit later!) and Bobby demanded his own photo shoot! He is such a supermodel!! He would be most upset if they weren't published!! Is that enough!!

Good on you for saving this budgie, its horrible to think these people didn't care enough for their bird to at least make an effort to find it a home, what a lucky little bird that you were there It sounds more like he is 'panting' than it being open from a out of line beak. This could be a sign of illness, it is good that he is eating. I would also suggest a trip to your avian vet since you are already worried and it's better to know for sure than later on when all your birds could be affected. I thought this as well from your description, Budgies have very sensitive respiratory systems so if you budgie seems to be panting all the time (and not just exertion from flight) it might be a good idea to get him checked up At least an Avian vet could help ease your concerns about his weight as well... I have seen one little baby that I cried about when I left the store cause I couldn't take him home, he was so tiny and looked scared and I wanted to wrap him up but didn't have the capacity for new budgies at the time.... Once the aviary is finished I won't walk away! :hap:

Thats fantastic! Sounds like you are making great progress already Don't worry about him being quiet for now, he will settle in and come out of his shell, or it could be his personality, my little Sunshine rarely makes any noise, he is a quiet shy little budgie, always has been, but he is still happy and does what he wants to do :hap:
