*updates* New Cage, New Bird~
Awww Pepe is gorgeous! Congrats! I love his name by the way!! And what a brilliant bargain on the cage! Is he quarantined from your other birds?? It is so very important to ensure you quarantine your new birds for a minumum of 30 days to ensure they are healthy, and are not hiding any illnesses that they might be able to pass onto your other birds

Keeping Three Birds
I have 4, 3 stick together and are friends, but Bobby is ignored, and squabbled with and pushed around, I don't know if this is because Bobby is blue and the others are yellow or if because Bobby and I are bonded like we are he wants nothing to do with them, or they push him away because he is 'weird' Budgie weird that is... to me he is perfect! The other 3 really aren't that interested in me at all and never come to me voluntarily, where as when I walk into the room Bobby often flies to me and always follows me out of the room. It is interesting to note also that Sherbie and Sparkie are a bonded pair, and have both welcomed Sunshine into their little group, but are not interested in Bobby at all, and Sunshine has completely rejected Bobby too now. Oh maybe they are in a little "S" name group that they have formed they all have a lot in common!!! Just wondering out loud here but do budgies perhaps feel jealousy? Since I noticed that Bobby doesn't mix with the other birds and also because he is so tame/bonded to me, I tend to lay the attention onto him in front of the other birds!! Step ups and talking to him, making noises then I take him out with me, I wonder if they are jealous of Bobby I do TRY to give them the same sort of attention though and they fly away so its their own fault really hehe! Sorry to hijack your thread, I am glad your 3 are working out well for you

Cage Lining
I alway comment to my guys when I am putting something particularly interesting in their cage to read, like here find us a nice house to live in when the real estate section goes in, or have a laugh at these when the comics go in!! I too will stop to read an article if it catches my eye when lining the cage!!! :(Laughing out loud):

Whats Best For Budgies
:(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): I'll have an aviary to fill, that is the greatest excuse for new budgies if I've ever had one!!! Well I feel confident now that putting him outside wont harm him and it is probably best for him! Maybe when I start to breed them I can tame from a hatchling for a companion for Bobby

Whats Best For Budgies
:hugs Bea - I have missed you on MSN the past couple of days!! That's a good thing then, to not worry about the adjustment... I want to get the aviary built as soon as possible so its ready for the August bird show It's something that we can work on while we are waiting for kitchen to be built, other things to be delivered etc to keep us busy!

Whats Best For Budgies
Well the aviary building plans are on their way, settlement on our new house *should* go through on Monday (was meant to be last Thurs but didn't happen) and I am now planning on building the aviary! I am so excited I can't wait!!! With the aviary plans in motion I have a constant debate in my head with what to do with Sunshine. I love him he is a sweet little budgie when his wings are clipped, but as soon as he is flighted he turns into a little monster... I bought him as a pal for Bobby, but they really don't get along and quite often fight. Sunny is quite the bully actually and poor Bobby is so submissive he will always step down rather than fight and often misses out on the good stuff :budgiedance: He doesn't enjoy spending time with me, and unless his wings are clipped I can't even get him to step up... My dilemma is this - Sherbie and Sparkie came from an aviary, they were happy aviary birds and I have no issues with putting them back in the aviary where I know they will be happier, but Sunshine has only ever been an inside bird. I am worried if I put him in the aviary he won't like it, or won't be able to deal with the conditions - but I will endeavour to make the aviary as warm and cosy as possible during our V cold winters... Do you think that Sunshine will be happier in an aviary where he doesn't have to worry about this big beast (me) trying to hold him and tame him and make him step up against his will!! I quite often have to turn off the lights to catch him to put him in the cage at night. I honestly don't think that Bobby will have an issue with being an only budgie again, as I think in his eyes I am his favourite budgie!Quite often when I go into the birdroom he is sitting apart from the other 3. I do believe in having another bird as company though as he would be alone for 8 hours of the day every weekday and I think he would really feel lonely after sharing a cage with 3 other budgies for so long now... So should I put Sunshine in the aviary - will he survive the outdoor conditions, or should I leave him inside to keep Bobby company bearing in mind that he doesn't enjoy my company at all and will never be tame and as happy as he would be in a wide open aviary...

Kudos To Harrisons!
That is so good to know, I have asked Bea to get me some from her Vet in Canberra, and post it to me, but even her vet is quite a drive away so it really isn't convenient for her or me to get them this way So for the moment I have put them back on the Vetafarm finch and budgie crumbles and to be honest they seem to prefer that, with Bobby eating it straight from the spoon as I tried to put it in his bowl!! :budgiedance: I would probably persist with the Harrisons if it was easier to buy here.

I'm glad you liked my picture Elly it won a POTM comp on our other forum for last month can't be greedy!!! I am so sorry to hear about Jessie, I sure do hope it wasn't the neighbours I hope Cosmo starts to perk up a bit soon, I just recently spent $150 in vet fees for Sherbie, she had blood tests and medication and she seems a lot perkier now, still not happy about her progress so she will be going back again next week.. I guess we just wear the costs and go without something until we get our next paycheck!!
