  4. He is saying the spangle is one Lovey (Laughing out loud). Not the female if thats what your talking about? Trust me, he is NOT opaline Also, Tango (my old green spangle, that Lisachromis now has) as well as my spangle Oscar DO have those patterns, yet they are not opalines Why do you think that means they are opaline? Heres a spangled opaline... like Bubbles 'Crystal'... http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/v_spangleop1.jpg And another: http://www.gwbs.org/images/bt_s_sp_op_h.jpg Kirby
  5. That spangle is not opaline .. sorry An opaline spangle looks like Bubbles "Crystal' They have VERY distinct markings Even MORE distinct then your light green spangles markings Kirby
  6. Yay another journal! I think you should add toys. My breeding pairs also have toys.. LOTS! (Laughing out loud) Heres a picture of the cage, nice, and colourful, with things to keep the male amused It wont hurt anyone. My male likes the balls, and loops He still feeds mum and babies, and is fine with the toys I also am worried about the eggs? They seem as if they are moving about, and arent together like they should be? Can you add wood shavings, or get a peice of wood with a concave in it to add to the nest? It will help more than you would imagine! Best of luck! From the mating picture, all seems like the eggs will hatch! Kirby
  7. Name: Oscar Colour: Spangle Other: Cobalt Pics: Yes! Below! Kirby
  8. Well..(Laughing out loud) I think he is GORGEOUS!!! Honestly. I feel that calling a bird english or american doesn't really matter. Sure it makes sense to some people to have an "English" or an "American" but it comes down to quality of the bird, why they have it, and the overal standards the bird meets. I have some stunning 'American" budgies, but to me, they are all pets. So does everyone else Then, there are a few (Bubbles, Hath, Daz e.t.c.) who get the show quality Australian budgies for the sole purpose of breeding gorgeous, filled out, stunning 'English", or show budgies i like to call them. They all act the same, eat the same foods, and ARE Australian budgies The only difference from Show Auatralian, or Pet Australian to me is their shape, posture, stack, and overall looks. Kirby
  9. I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD YELLOW FACE SPANGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :budgiedance: !!!!!!!!!!! They are stunning Sailorwolf!!!! Ohh my! I can't get over them! I cant wait until i have spangled babies any day now, LET ALONE YELLOW FACE'S!!!! x a number to many for words!!!! ps- 9th picture is the most cutest, best looking baby i've seen! (Other than Kazza's Mars ) (Laughing out loud). Kirby
  10. YAY!!! :) Yes its normal. I had a baby hatch at 16 days when i bred 6 years ago Some are early risers! They do it becuase it means they were kept very warm, and grew faster than the suggested, o averahe time of 18 days Best of luck!!! We NEED PICCIES!!!! My first egg will hatch on Feb 4th, so a few days to go yet (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  11. Awwww Kazza! x100 I would choose Doh-nut How adorable is he?!?! (Laughing out loud) How big is the cage? Any FCS??? (Full Cage Shots?). Kirby

  15. I can't beleive im hearing this from you Joey!! :D Why would you sell them becuase they didnt produce on their first batch?!?!?! MANY, if not ALL pairs have troubles, and arent perfect on their first round. Sounds lame to me to sell them becuase they are first timers Give them a few times, then make a desicion please!!! I also am VERY confused by the statement lovey posted... please explain! Are you talking about selling Juliet (the pearl tiel hen you have) i remember you told me yours selling her, and if shes got tumors what a nasty thing to do!!! :D And re-think selling such a gorgeous first timer pair...everyone needs a second chance, and who knows! Maybe this pair will lay your 9 fertile eggs next time. Kirby
  16. Whippeeee! By this point, you will be able to candle the first 3!!! Or i guess might as well do all of them as you didn't mark the eggs with a washable childrens marker... Good luck! They are gorgeous, and i love the nest box! My one pair has 3 eggs now, and their 4th tomrrow!!! 2nd egg is fertile! 1st isnt, and 3rd is to early to tell! So our babies, as well as Bea's will all be close to together! How fun! (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  17. Hey guys! I only have 2 babies left to go to their new homes! Here are piccies of them, from Kirby and Belles clutch... Enjoy! :hap: gorgeous yellow face blue type II violet Awww!!! 18. NERWEN!!!!! :D I think you should put up Thistle with Pie... and if not pie, then with squeker You could get: -dominant pied blues -blue normals -blue spangles -dominant blue spangles or -yellow face normals -yellow face spangles -blue spangles -yellow face blue spangles If i were you i would rather put up Pie with Thistle, i'm all about the dom pied spangles (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  19. To be 100% honest, i breed the budgies becuase i know that all the time i have worked on giving them great care, clean, big cages, a happy environment, great foods, and suitable mates, then why not breed if i have the time? I do NOT breed for money, or fun, as a spir of the moment thing, but rather to breed happy babies that will find GREAT homes! As many of you know that i talk to, or have seen my ads for my pet budgies i sell, i onyl find the BEST homes. I would NEVER sell any pet even a fish) to a home that i would not want to go to if i was the pet, and i try to find a home even better suited than mine! Meaning say there's a nice family whos been researching getting a pet budgie for months, and honestly trying to be the best future owners, i'll invite them over, i'll teach them things (good foods for their new baby to eat, safe branches, tell them great toys, the best places to find to biggest cages, and any other questions they have). Then, they can also visit their baby they choose to buy from me, i put it on hold, and they pick it up when it's been eating by itself for a week or so. They then come, and take their new baby home in a trasnport box that i give to them (i even take the time and money to go to petshops and buy budgie transport boxes for their new pets, thats how into i am (Laughing out loud)) then i ask for updates every few weeks. I feel they are tsill my birds, but have new homes. So i want to check up on how they are doing e.t.c. As a matter of fact, i got an email from one of Kirby and Belles pied baby's owner, and they said they are thrilled to have such a fun baby form me. He's a talker already, loves to sing, play with them, fallow them, and is quite the little magnet to people. he LOVES playing with toy balls, and is eating a great diet (i feed my babies and adult birds cuttlebone, vegies daily, iodine blocks, and great enrich filled budgie seed for variety and energy to give them a boost before they go to their new homes, then i 'make' the nw owner's feed them the same great foods and keep their new babies on a great diet. I ALSO print the owners out a care packagei made out of my head, buy them a new toy per baby for their new homs, and give them baby pics of their birds when they were young. So, as you can see it's a joy to see such brilliant little minds go off into the world, from healthy parents, and become the tamest birds. They truely are my passion and hobby, and in the end, all i want is for my babies to go to great homes that they will get showered with respect, joy, attention, affection, praise, and last but not least, the most important feeling, love Kirby
  20. Aww Kazza!!! I know what baby 5 is a white recessive pied. My babies both (Quin from Kirby and Belles last clutch, and BubbleGum from this clutch) were both like that. Remember? I thought maybe they were opalines, but stayd white, then around day 5-7 they got dark spots on their foreheads, and blue starting appearing near their feet, and black markings on their wings...so i'm more than 90% sure it's a recessive pied baby Kirby
  21. The grey babies thinking... "How many times has your mom told you? When your about to make a move on a hot young babe, DONT STICK OUT YOUR TONGUE!!! YUCK!!!" (Laughing out loud) Kirbs
  22. (Laughing out loud) :hap: Yes she is :hap: She's such a cutrie too though..no wonder she's a hit with males and females! (Laughing out loud) Kirby
  23. Hey! My yellow face skyblue type II cinnamon opaline hen just turned 7 months old...and shes a tease!!! She flirts with every boy, and everu girl for that matter! (Laughing out loud) Here's some proof of her 'kindness' she's currently expressing to Chico my yellow face blue type II recessive pied male who's turning 7 this year!!! ps- For you non-breeders, the bird on the left (Emma) is in the "U" shape for my male. This means shes accepting him to mate her! He wasn't even courting! To be honest, he never mounts any female, or anything! She just came on the same perch as him, raised her tail, and he responded for a secdon then got scared and flew away (Laughing out loud)... Kirby
  24. Hey guys I found this gorgeous picture off the net! What do you all think? The spangles got stunning markings...i LOVE him! http://kijiji.ebayimg.com/i9/07/i/000/82/11/5832_20.JPG Kirby
  25. Kazza...what can we say? Nothing we say will ever compare to their gorgeous colours!!! They look very great, and i can't wait to see what babies 3 and 4 are I'm thinking baby 3 is a opaline spangle like Crystal, and baby 4 is a dominant pied spangle... Let's see in few days we'll be able to tell! (Laughing out loud) Kirby
