  1. Hey guys Oscar (seen below) is a cobalt spangle cock. I got him from a breeder, and Oscars parents were a cobalt normal cock, and a skyblue spangle female. The siblings were 3 cobalt greywings, 2 cobalt spangles (thats including Oscar as one of them) and a single white skyblue recessive pied... Then Lilly (seen below) is what i think is a yellow face blue type II dilute recessive pied hen. She is a pet shop budgie baby. The question i am asking is could i get recessive pieds (either white faces or yellow faces) from this pair seen above? As Oscar has recessive pied in his blood (from a sibling) and Lilly is one ? ? ? Thanks guys!!! Kirbs
  2. Dominant pied blue spangle... A STUNNER!!!!! :ausb: :ausb: Kirbs
  3. Hahahah yes it IS pink... At first i thought he was a female...but lately its been VERY pink, no white at all, and he acts very male. Hes very chirpy, flirty, outgoing, and i know hes a male  ps- Quin ALSO did his first flight today!!!! Well, he was on my hand, with Toby, then Toby booked it (as i he started flyign towards his dad) and Quin decided he should fallow her. He took off by moving his wings slowly...flapping them while on my hand, then took off vertically like a helicopter. He then went nuts and started flying around the room! Smacking into my wall, and i got scared becuase it was very hard, the hardest ive ever seen a budgie slam a wall...But i look, and theres lil Quin preening his tail behind my desk.... What a lil boy, anyways, he then took off again and landed a great landing on the big cage. Im so proud! (Laughing out loud) Kirbs

What a bout one of those fir retardant blankets? I was thinking about this a while ago, as i thought "what if i had an aviary and a fire was near it?". I then thought that you know how lumber people who cut down trees, and also fire fighters carry those fire blankets? They look like tinfoil almost? What if you just got some of those, and when a fire was approaching, tent MANY of them up on your aviary and peg them into the ground so no smoke or fire could get toe the aviary and/or birds? Justa though i guess. Then you oculd also use the idea of a sprinkler oontop of the aviary to keep the mesh cool (as the water on the blacket would keep it from gettign hot) aswell as keeping the fire at bay.....Just a thought... 5. Thanks guys ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!? IM GOING TO DIE WHEN THEY LEAVE!!!!!!!! This is the first clutch born in my home in over 6 years, so they are very special to me. Thats why i took a longer time finding great homes for each of them Tanks Lisa...im proud that i took sch great care of Kirby and belle that both birds dont even look like theyve had 5 babies. Neither look skinny, neither are moulting, and neitherare stressed! Both of them are in the BEST condiotion ive ever seen them in (colours bright, ceres perfect, and nails perfectly trim). They look cleaner then my other birds who have been having fun for the past 8 weeks even though Kirby and Belle have been sitting, feeding, and attending to 8 eggs and 5 babies....Im so very proud of them, and honestly 8 babies owuld have been 8, but 5 was a perfect number and each one of them got the right attentin they need to grow up into a brilliant adult tame budgie... Kirbs
  6. So if you breed Duke to a greywing normal green hen??? Youd get: -normal greens -green spangles -and i htink greywinged greens are a possiblity aswell? -(possibly blues in both of those mutations if both parents are split to it...) Kirbs

Daz doesnt open breed... He hangs his nest boxes on the FABULOUS breeding cages hes got setup... If i were you, and you were open breeding, i would use hooks and eyes on the walls of the aviary. So, you oculd clip, and unclip them off to wall to get a better veiw of them. Plus, you could put tem randomly in the aviary, instead of putting them all on the same shelf, then fights could occur...Knwo what i mean? Kirbs
  8. the dads a dominant pied cobalt blue..and the moms a yellow face spangle... Kirby
  9. Hes my 2nd favourite colour!!!!!!!! :fear Looks to me like a greywing blue spangle, possibly dominant pied as his ad is one... Kirbs
  10. Good guess BEa... But doublfe factor spangles are a body colour (white in blue series, and yellow in greens eries) then they can have their body colour (green for green series and blue for blue series) on their stomachs. So, this cock is a df green spangle, as the green is showing up in the breast of the bird...Ill try to find a picture of what i mean okay? Heres one.... http://www.adbudgerigars.co.uk/images/Youn...angle_cock1.jpg However Anna birds green stand our more. But see how hes got the green chest aswell...but yellow wings and body... Kirbs
  11. no way! (Laughing out loud) Shes just a baby Anna! Probably only 6-8 weeks old But the dfs is at least 8 months...looks about 1-3 years old to me... And a looker he is! I want him! So, your planning on breeding again Anna? Is that why you got them? Kirby
  12. HOW GORGEOUS ANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have a double factor spangle green cock, and a dutch dominant pied yellow face blue type I hen.... They are sooooo gorgeous!!!!!! ps- I was thinking about the rust too Anna...why not put them in the white breeder cage? May save lives.... Kirbs
  13. Is it not #3 and #5??? I know #3 is for sure...but #5 looks like one aswell... Kirbs
  14. Looks to me like a light green clearwing....??? Kirbs
  15. HAHAHAHAHA Bubbles your correct!!!... Read the qoute below... Dont mind the names, remember they were given the day they were born..and out of 5 babies, i was correct naming only Tweety and Quin Anyways... Thanks standbyme! ME too! It was soo cute watching them all playing out of the cage and intereacting with everyone else... Kirbs
  16. Aww thanks Shawna!!! They are soo cute arent they To be honest, im VERY happy this time around with their new owners. All VERY nice, respectful, honest, funny, and its crazy becuase each bird actually picked their owners. Well, the owners said they liked that bird, but it ended up that the bird would walk towards them....and it was love at first site ! ): What more can an owner ask for? Im so pleased! Kirby
  17. Hey!!! Heres are new piccies of the 5 babies..Lucky, Tweety, Grace, Toby, and Quin Enjoy them guys, they may be the lat set of photos youll see of them all together and Lucky and Tweety are going home next weekend, and Grace isnt here much longer than them either All the babies, with dad Kirby below them... Another great shot... The 5 crazy babies... I think Lucky (left) is a female now...and Grace(right) is a male...What do you think? Lucky Grace... Quins backside... And again Toby (my other yellow face) was sleeping in the nest box whole but i woke him up (Laughing out loud) Hope you like them guys! They sure are a group of cuties I think Lucky, Tweety, and Toby are females as their ceres are whiteish and blue..then Grace and Quin are males as their ceres are pink and both of their personalties suit males more than females...And all are sold to GREAT homes!!! :D

Baby 1 looksl like a violet normal... Bab 2 looks like a yellow face skyblue spangle... Baby 3 looks like a yellow face blue spangle again... Baby 4 looks like a dominant pied blue of some sort???... ps- IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JELIOUS!!!!!! Ive wanted a yellow face spangle for sooooo longg! Why cant i live closer to get one of the babies :hap: Its so unfair you have 3 (Laughing out loud). The mom, and 2 babies) Kirby
  20. Hey guys... Heres a thread on Zebras bird Pipi...I thought of this bird before...when i was trying to figure out what Lilly was...So here it is...Its pointless i think, (Laughing out loud), but i just wanted you guys to see it. As you can see i thought she was a recessive pied (Pipi) but others thought dominant even though shes got no iris rings... Heres the link: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....=10926&hl=Zebra Kirbs
  21. Hahaha yes i kinda got the explaination..thanks! Can we get pics of Rainbow Rainbow? (Laughing out loud) That would be great! Kirbs

Thanks you soo much ksgray anf family  I think its time for some updated pics of your bird and your great cage  All babies are doing great! Lucky and Tweety are sold, Toby is sold, and Grace is sold. A lady is coming this weekend to buy Quin  Overall im VERY happy for Kirby and Belle breeding for the first time, with fertile eggs, and 5 healthy babies being at this stage  Im also surprised at the colours they created. I have a yellow face skyblue, a cobalt blue, a violet normal, a yellow face blue type II, and a skyblue/white recessive pied  They are all gorgeous, and so unique and have amazing personalities!!!! Today, i rearranged the big cage, and added Lucky and Tweety to it with the rest of the flock (Chico, Ariel, Oscar, and Emma). They all get along great, and ive had them all out for free flying time to get use to eachother for the past week, and doing so has paid off tremenously!!! As not fights or squabbles have broken out, and everyone loves oneantoher... UPDATE: Belle laid another egg today Grace, Toby and Quin are still in the nest!!! The eggs been addled i think as i saw Quin runnign around in the nest kicking the egg like a soccer ball...and everytime i go in the next the eggs always moved around..also at one point it was cold, yet others steaming hot. I do NOT want them to have more babies in a row (even though theyve only had 1 clutch) i want them to breed every few months instead of 2 times right back to back. So, now that Lucky and Tweety are in the big cage, theres only 3 babies (Grace is still in nest but comes out a lot and learnt how to at herself yesterday, then Toby was out today in the food cup trying to learn how to eat, and Quin is still in the nest loving bed-in-breakfast  (Laughing out loud) ). So, should i move Belle back in the big cage and let Kirby feed Grace, Toby and Quin? I think Kirby will feed them, hes a GREAT DAD!!!!! And feeding his family is always his first priority... Kirbs
  23. Thanks guys! Rainbow...can we see some pics of Rainbow? That would be greaaaat!!! Also, that bird was on its own thread about what it was. She only had 1 iris ring, yet everyone thought she was a dominant pied. It ended up she was a mix of the two, and had dominant pied babies with a violet normal...I want looking or showing you that bird for markings, just to show you what i meant about a brd looking dominant but only having 1 tini iris ring...(Laughing out loud) Kirbs
  24. Haha thanks guys... It honestly doesnt matter to me, either way shes a BEAUTY!!!! Ive just been told by numerous people she IS a dominant, then even more say recessive...I thought recessive aswell...but he white band confused me....(Laughing out loud) Thanks guys...and i hope to see more voyes! (Laughing out loud) Who voted dominant? Kirbs
  25. Thanks Bea! Your the only good voter so far..as the other 2 people ran away after voting and didnt help me out by tryign to explain themselves :fear (Laughing out loud) I see what you mean..however ive seen dominant pied budgies like her with the front marked like that, aswell as the wings, head markings e.t.c. I do however think she may be one of those birds whos a domninant pied but is showing recessive traits... Ill see if i canget a picture of the bird im talking about...shes got patches of markings like a recessive but has 1 iris ring in 1 eye, and not one in the other, and everyone said shes a dominant pied...Ill go search for the picture FOUND HER!!!! As you can see she looks like a dominant pied, and a recessive! Shes only got 1 iris ring though..yet produces dominant pied babies (Laughing out loud) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y23/Budgies74/mmd2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y23/Budgies74/vg3.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y23/Budgies74/bb3.jpg Kirbs
