Thanks guys... I want more dominat spangle pied babies so im thikning of what to breed him to. I think im going to get a dominant [ied female...so i can get: -yellow face blue normals -white face blue normals -blue spangles (yellow and white faces) -dominant pied blues (also yellowfaces) -double factor dominant pieds -dominant spangle pieds (yellow and white faces) Am i missing any? And the reason im asking is to see other peoples opinions, as im not good at genetics..well i am, but i like when others help me out as sometimes forget 1 or more possible outcomes... Kirbs

Lucky...(Laughing out loud) So, i think Lucky is a male yellow face skyblue, Tweety is a normal cobalt female, Grace is a normal cobalt female to i think, Toby is a yellow face (i think) cobalt, and baby Quin is a gorgeous recessive white pied... :fear So far, the wonderful people who baught Lucky, may want Tweety aswell...as Tweety and Lucky are truely best pals, and the family couldnt decide who to get, so they may get both Another family comes tomrrrow night to see them, and pick out their baby. So there will be 2 for SURE sold by tomrrow, possibly 3 if the one family takes Tweety aswell. Then the man who wanted Quin hasnt replied back to ANY of my recent emails, so im not sure whats going on with that. Then another lady who wanteed 1 baby is gone on vacation, so im not sure if she still wants one. I will keep you updated guys! Kirbs

Thanks guys! So, ive been so busy! Luckys new family came and reserved him They are fabulous futurue owners! I REALLY like them and so does Lucky. He fell asleep on them, let them put him on his back, and even let him scratch his baby face, and he hardly lets me even! (Laughing out loud) So im glad. Another family comes thursday night at 6:30pm to reserve their baby. Also, the people who baught Lucky may also get Tweety as they also loved her, and Tweety was very cuddly with them. Also, Lucky and Tweety were cuddling, and they thought it was so cute, and shes going to email me back soon to see if she wants Tweety aswell AND!!! Quin (last baby) is a WHITE RECESSIVE PIED!!! Shes gorgeous! I LOVE WHITE RECESSIVE PIEDS!!!! So i now now they are both split to recessive pied! ALSO, another wird thing is that only 1 out of 5 babies have yellow faces! Normall when i bred before with my yellow face male (chicos dad) i got 1 white pied out of 8 yellow pieds, then 2 white face opalins out of 8 yellow faced one... Werid isnt it? Those grey markings are just the shade of her brilliant blue colliding with the light. She is a yellow face skyblue type II (probably) normal... Kirbs

Lovey you are correct on the hen... BUT the male has a iris ring...does he not? Looks like a double factor dominant pied...but then again his front green makrings look more recessive rather than dominant. Can you get pics of his back bc? That would help a lot... Thanks bud! Kirbs

Thanks guys I know i cannot keep 1 every clutch..i only have room for 2 more budgies. I was planning on keeping 1 from this clutch as its the first cluth born in my home in over 6 years, then a yellow face spangle hen when Oscar and Emma breed in April of next year I have not gotten chance to talk to her yet, but will soon (tonight). As the first family vcomes to reserve their baby sunday at 2pm..and ts now Friday at 3:51pm... So i have abou 2 days to convince her..WISH ME LUCK!!! Kirbs

Hey! IVE GOT NEWS!!!! QUIN IS A PIED!!!!!!!!! Shes got 1 dark spot on her right wing...then another spot on her left wing!!!!!!!!!!!! ;wub: :hap: :hap: I hope shes a white pied! THATS THE KIND I LOVE!!!! I think if it is a white recessive pied ill keep him..even if its a girl. They are just so darn cute! Thanks guys!!! YES WE ARE KEEPING 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to keep Lucky sooo badly! Hes soooo cute! And like i said before...his colour is SO NEON FLOURESCENT TURQUISE!!!! Its soo bright and brilliant! Also his yellow face is GLOWING yellow! So, *** be GORGEUOS!!! Tweety is for SURE a normal cobalt...very violet coloured, but i think cobalt as its a royal blue colour like Merlin Loveys birdy Grace is a skyblue aswell!!! Same colour as Lucky but with a white face! Im soo excited! So so far i have 1 yelow face skyblue, 1 cobalt normal, and 1 skyblue normal like mom About Quin though... NOT A SINGLE DARK MARK ON HER!!! None ANYWHERE!!! However...i just went to look at her, and i think shes a yellow pied as she looks like she has a few dark pin feathers visible on her wings! It makes sense though, and Kirby is a yellow face, so she can be a yellow pied. Also, those 2 dark spots are the only ones on her whole body! And her beak is still the same colour as Chico and Ariel (my other recessives)...and the other babies are very dark and blackish Kirby

Hey there! Daz...When did the recessive pieds dark markings come up? I have a baby from my yf male and skyblue normal female that doesnt have any markings and hes 5 days old..all others are yf, or cobalts..hes clear. Im thinking hes opaline, or recessive pied. Both parents are pet shop birds so i dont know backgrounds...(ps- I started thread under mutations...talking about "What will Quinn be growing up?"...or check my breeding thread called "Baby journal").. I agree with both I see normal wing patterns, and spangles..probably grey :hap: Cindy, ho do you handfeed them? Do you take them away from their parents around 2 weeks old, and feed them the rest? Do you use a shrynge? Or spoon? Or.. And how do they take to it? Mine dont like the handfeeding mix that much... I want to take them away from their parents in few days or weeks...but want to make sure they will eat handfeeding mix... Thanks mate! Kirby
