Hey guys!!! :fear So the newest bird i got (Lilly), is still undecided on who thinks she is a recessive or a dominant pied. She was in a cage with yellow face recessive that looked similar to her, aswell as yellow face dominant pieds that looked simila to her...All 6 weeks old, and from the same shipment as the others... Here are piccies!!! Good natural colour shot... perfect markings shot... This is a white band on her lower belly..Her body colour is yellow..but this is a white patch that goes form under her wing, to the other side under her wing... You can see both white marks on either side of her blue belly ... Another shot of the mysterious band... Good natural coloured wing/body colour picture... Her front... See the white band yet yellow body colour everywhere else? Yet another picture of her undersides... Weird mirror shot...(relfection) So guys..what do you think she is?!?!?! Thanks!!! Kirbs

:( Thats not depressing...(Laughing out loud) However i could get recessive pieds so thats okay...as Oscars sibling was a recessive pied (so hes got the genes for it i think) then Lilly IS a recessive...maybe dominant (time wil tell by iris ring)....However i have a feeling she may be one of those birds with an iris ring in one eye, and not one in the other like some other peoples birds. So a dominant pied technically, but showing signs of a recessive aswell? Who knows... Heres pics of Bubbles birds (dominant pied spangles)...So i wasnt that far off on thinking Lilly was a spangle pied. Hey guys! Well, Lilly is approx 6-7 weeks old..meaning she was bron around early September (im saying her birthday is the 7th)...so shell be 12 months old next Septmeber...So i guess thats early fdall not late spring...or whatever (Laughing out loud)... Well see!!! Kirby

Haha thanks Cheeta!!! I have to agree with whats a FACT and what im pretending to see. Meaning i think she IS a recessive pied, but i thought she could have been dominant which i LOVE so im trying to fight againt her being a reccessive as i want her to be dominant (Laughing out loud). So, i think my new baby is a recessive pied...THERE!! I ADMITTED IT!!! (Laughing out loud) So if she IS recessive id get: -normal blues -yellow face normals -blue spangles -y/f blue spangles -yellow faced, and white faced recessive pieds (*IF* Oscar is split to it, as one of his siblings were a white recessive pied) Kirbs

Here are new piccies of Lilly (yes i named her Lilly form Layla..i like it better, and i kept saying Lola before for some reason ) Good wing markings picture... Good front shot... Her real colouring... Notice the great shot of her bright white band on either side of her blue belly ... One of Lilly's white marks... So, recessive or dominant? Im thinking Recessive...So scratch the idea of dominant pied babies being created... Oh well..i could get recessive right? Since Lillys one i think, and Oscars brother was one? Kirbs

Aww Thanks KellyM I was gong to get the opaline violet dominant pied...but at the last second, Layla woke up after sleeping the whole time, and i realised how ADORABLE she was!!! And had to have her! Plus the dominant opaline hen was fat And looks unporportioned . Laylas bum is dirty..but ive cleaned it. Her poop gets stuck on her vent feathers..so hoepfully she isnt sick. She sure looks healthy, other than her dirty bum, which is now good, and not dirty anymore. And her poops are perfect, so i dont think shes sick. I just cant wait until she gets older so i can tell if she IS recessive or dominant, and for her to breed with my cobalt spangle (Laughing out loud) Kirbs

Hey! So, i will be paring my newest hen Layla with Oscar in late spring next year, and am wondering what i can expect?!? Oscars a cobalt spangle (his moms a skyblue spangle, and his dad is a normal cobalt..his siblings were cobalt greywings, and a recessive white pied) then my newest budgie Layla is probably a yellowface blue type II diluted dominant pied...But im not sure as shes got signs of being recessive (her wings are covered with markings, and im not sure if her flights are clear or not as they are clipped as of now). Here are pics of the two... Thanks guys So you think she is a dilute yellowface type 2 dominant pied??? She does have the white band on her chest (under the blue) that goes from one side of under her wing, then all the way under her belly up into her other wing...There were dominant pieds in the cage with her, so its possible (they were also the same colour, yet there was also reccessive pieds the same colour almost)... Her eyes are black, and her tail is indeed yellow with the skyblue colour mixed into it...not white. Im not sure though, if she ins dominant... As her wings are full of markings from what i can see, and you can see in the very first picture i posted above, shes got grey feathers near her flights (her flights are clipped however)... Do you kno what i mean? Its hard to explain (Laughing out loud). Shes just soooooooooooooooooo cute!!! And its amazing! I still DO like the name! (Laughing out loud). Normally i change their names 2-4 times...and i have not changed hers once! (Laughing out loud) Kirbs

Thanks guys!!! So..ive got some good news!!! Shes VERY TAME!!! (Laughing out loud). I was ust holding her, and she was chewing my nose, and lips...ate millet for the first time (she started out looking at it like " is this?!?!" then i put one in her mouth and 3 minutes later the millet was half eaten)...and i noticed a uniuqe marking! As you can see, shes got a blue belly, with yellow base as a body colour right? Well...on either side of her blue belly...shes got a white band!!! Its a bright white band! Heres a few pics of it!!! See the white band form side to side under her Blue belly? Weird eh? Kirbs

HAha yes Shawna...I thought she was a dominant pied aswell...As the other birds in the cage were dominant pied yellow faces with bright blue patches on their bodys...and there were also many blue dominant pieds...yet about 5 white recesives, and 4 recessives that looked similar to this baby whos now named Layla So...im not sure. Her eyes are black, and from what i can tell her wings look recessive though As i can see most of the primary flights have colour on them, and none of the primaries do.. (i dont think as her wings are clipped, but from what i can see, they look clear)...So time will tell!!! Is she greywing or clearwing? I thoght grewying? But now i think clearwing (Laughing out loud)... ps- Shawna, can you post pics of Bella (whatever ones you have) so i can compare wing markings? Thanks mate! Kirby :hap:

Hey guys!!! :hap: Ive got a new addition!!! I went to a great Pet shop today, and i noticed about 30 new baby budgies 6 weeks old So, i walked by becuase they looked like normal yellow or white recessive pieds (i like recessive, but am more interested in dominant pieds)...I noticed a GORGEOUS opaline violet dominant pied hen and flipped!!! She was sooo cute! Then i noticed a adult male lime green spangle..then a GORGEOUS COBALT SPANGLE SOMINANT PIED BABY!!! He was STUNNING!!!!!! I got nervous and started swallowing my spit more (i do that when i get intense with nerves)...I looked though and he was a male not female So, i was like...Hmm....nevermind then, ill go look at the fish, until i saw my newest baby!!!! Shes a recessive yellow blue pied for sure...greywing or clearing aswell..and im HOPEING TO GOD SPANGLE!!!!! Her markings are IDENTICAL to Shawna's bird BElla...aand i just had to have her!!! Here she is!!! (No name as of this moment, but i like Sophie, Chloe, Lilly and Daisy). Hey there guys!!! Ive luired a GREEEAAATTT family to the forum You guys will be proud of m!!! Well, they are a family of 4 kids, and they are the wonderful family buying Lucky and Tweety (the 2 oldest babies out of Kirby and Belles batch of babies)... They come to get the birds in about 3 weeks time...possibly less as they (the birds they baught) are prety much fledged, but im keeping them until they know how to fly, and can eat by themselves for more than a week without going in nest... So ya, looking forward for them to finally talking to us, as theyve already registered on the forum, they just have not had time to chat yet...that is why i came in the let them know how welcome and happy everyone is of a new member form canada (Laughing out loud) :dbb1: Kirbs

Hey guys, So, i know their colous for sure now... Lucky is yf skyblue normal, Tweety is a cobalt normal, Grace is a violet normal, Toby is a yellow face type II, and Quin is a skyblue recessive white pied... I have NEW piccies!!! ENJOY!!! Dad, Kirby with Lucky and Tweety... Lucky and Tweety out of the cage for the first time (Once fledged)..and BOTH are sold to the same home :D On my hand... Tweety looking into the camera... Thanks guys! So, 3 of them are sold...2 left I MIGHT keep Quin (pied baby) as he/shes gorgeous and soo pretty! But im not sure yet... Other than that, they are all great! Lucky is sold, and is out of the nest about 15 hours a day, then sleeps in nest with siblings the other 9 hours Tweety is sold to the same people as Lucky, and she folics outside of the nest, but is in the nest about 20hours a day still. Grace is still very active and alert, but hasnt gone out of the box yet...I dont think..(Laughing out loud). Then Toby is sold aswell...and hes going to be a yellow face blue Quin is a skyblue recessive pied with VERY little symetrical markins on his wings and a blue stomach... New piccies soon! Kirbs
