The Blue Family
I think Reep looks a lot like Mamma - except she's blue. Lots of cheek spots. So cute! The mama is absolutely beautiful. Has she had other clutches?

Bath Time For Babies
I think Jewel liked it a little more than Romeo. Both have clipped wings so they couldn't really get too far, but Romeo made a few attempts to fly out. I just put a bit of water in the bottom of the kitchen sink. Jewel just walked around in it. I've but pans of water in the big cage and even put lettuce in, but none of the other budgies have bothered yet. I'm sure that if one takes to it they all will. That is how it seems to be with everything else.

New Budgie
Welcome!! You'll learn lots here. Your budgie looks like a cutie. Every budgie is different. Some will finger tame sooner than others. There is great information on the site about taming. Looking forward to hearing more about Casper.

Hello From Sweden!
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will enjoy your time here. There is a lot of great information. The people here are wonderful and helpful and all love budgies very much. I got my first 2 budgies in January and now have 10. They are addictive. This site has helped me with so much! Congrats on all your babies. I look forward to more pics of them as they progress.

Bath Time For Babies
Well I thought the little babies smelled a little too much like pet shop so I decided to give them a bath. They were actually pretty good. Wet budgies are so cute! Jewel got to go in first. Then Romeo. They got lots of snuggles under my sweater after to get toasty warm!!

Baby Possibillaties?
Congrats Kirby!!! I was just wondering if there were any eggs yet and your message appeared. You must be thrilled. I really hope they are fertile this time. I have my fingers crossed for you!!!!

The Terrible Two
They are really sweet together Bea. It is fun to watch them interact. I get hours of entertainment watching my gang play. Are you planning on putting them in the same cage at some point?

New Budgie
Edith, how many budgies are you planning on getting. That will determine your cage size. Bigger is always better. Check out the cages and aviaries section for lots of info on cages. I would say for starters you need food and water dishes, toys, a variety of perches, cuttlebone, mineral iodine block, high quality seed or pellets, veggies and fruit.

Pellets
Great post budgiebird. Here I have been trying to add pellets to my birds diet and they have been chucking them out. Maybe they are smarter than we are. What is your crumblemix Daz? And what type of seed do you use?

Home At Last
So if Jewel and Romeo are siblings does it mean that she would be split for recessive pied, and him for ino?

My Little Bug
What a handsome spangle boy you have there. I'm jealous. I want a spangle so badly but there aren't any to be found around here. He's really stunning.

Outdoor Aviary In Canada?
Just wondering if anyone from Canada has an outdoor aviary. I would like to build something to keep the birds in for the summer. But I'm worried about predators that might get them. We have lots of raccoons around here. I'm pretty sure they would be able to rip or chew through almost anything and get in there. And there are probably other predators I haven't thought of.

Introducing The Newly Named Goofy!

New Pic
Budgies can be so uncooperative - but we love them anyway. Cute picture.

Ino Babies
Aren't "ino" eyes red even as babies?

Introducing Bessie
They are both so pretty. I'm sure it won't be any time at all and they will make some contact.

Crazy For Cuttlebone
The males are definately doing a lot more bobbing around - especially Sylvester and Tazzy. I've seen some feeding going on but it is usually the males feeding each other. I'm sure it is a bit of 'spring fever' but hopefully it doesn't lead to mating. If necessary I can but the divider in and have males on one side and females on the other.

Head Under Wings
Quick question - do females tuck their heads under the wings to sleep? Both Jewel and Romeo sleep with heads under wings, but it seems that only the males do in the big cage.

Home At Last
And if it turns out to be a male then he'll become Julian. Quick question - do females tuck their heads under the wings to sleep? Both Jewel and Romeo sleep with heads under wings, but it seems that only the males do in the big cage. Maybe I should post this in behaviour??

Mass Moulting 60 Budgies Moulting At The Same Time !
I will as soon as I get it. I guess its due in on the 11th. My sister has one and loves it. She doesn't have budgies - just 2 little kids that leave lots of crumbs around. Take care of yourself. Hope the ribs heal quickly.

Home At Last
I think I'm going to call her Jewel. Pearl isn't quite right for her for some reason. It goes better with Romeo too

Home At Last
Well here are a few more pics of the babies. They are just SO SO cute!!! I had them out of the cage for a bit today. There wings are clipped but man they can still fly around - the little stinkers. I managed to have them both sit on my finger for a bit so I'm pleased about that. Anyway... here they are again  Pearl??? Romeo They must be siblings!!!
