Love the aviary! I think if I had one I would paint the inside walls with trees, sky, etc. Do you think it would confuse the birds and they would crash into the walls???

Oh, I can tell he has tons of personality. And he looks so big. Is he much bigger than Pretty - he's English right? He really is stunning. Nice pikkies. Can't wait to see more and hear what his name is.

I agree with Lovey about the wing clipping. Even if you just do it for a short period of time while you train. I have budgies that came to me clipped and budgies that came unclipped. I have never had much success with the unclipped birds. I know that people do have success, but I have 10 budgies and they have to share my attention. My birds that are (or were) clipped aren't as tame as some, but at least I can get them to step up to put them back in their cage.

Welcome to the forum. I'm quite new myself so can't comment on the why's but the beak and cere don't look normal to me. I'll watch this post for sure because I'm curious about the cause. I hope all will be okay with your budgie. And I look forward to hearing more about him.

I've been snap happy lately so thought I'd post some of my pics Tweety looking so pretty these days. In the first picture she is gazing at the great outdoors (their cage sits by a big picture window). Tweety & Sylvester all grown up. Remember when they looked like this Jewel checking out the snack tray. Yum Yum. And hanging out with Romeo on top of the cage Beka and Sylvester. You can see the slight difference in their colour because of the YF in Sylvester. Beka doesn't look that much bigger here, but she is a lot heavier. Sweet Tazzy - he still has my heart Daffy saying hello - she is moulting and looks scruffy. She checks out the string of peanuts in the second shot. Wylie is moulting too. The different colours on him are gorgeous! He is my only budgie with grey feet and his skin looks grey too under the feathers. Puddin looking chubby here. She is a bigger bird but not fat. She just has a good 'poof' on here. Stunning Star! She sometimes sends the cutest looks my way.

My mom's budgie did this with her one chick. She actually drew blood a couple of times on the poor little bub. We think she wanted to mate again and saw the baby as competition. Mom put the baby in a new cage with lots of seed on the floor and she started pecking around. That was back in December and the baby is fine. She is very fiesty and now chases her mama around.
