Great find. Always nice to get a good deal on something.

Does This Sound Real?
Sorry to hear it Kirby! I wonder if there may be a problem between the two of them. Do you have another male you can put with her?

I'm not looking forward to that behaviour. Agh!!!

Oh My! What A Traumatic Time
OH MY!!! I didn't realize about the blood. Yikes. Wonder if she'll have any more?
-
Adopting ?
I looked at shelters when after I got my first two, but none had any birds. So it was to the petstore for me. But I think it would be wonderful if you could make a home for her. She is pretty and looks young.

Romeo And Jewel
Well I had Romeo and Jewel in the bathroom tonight for some taming time. Of course I had the camera. The pics are mostly of them just being pretty. They are such beautiful birds!!! Romeo looking so sweet (and baby) here. And a little more grown up here. Jewel looks like she is smiling at me here. She is strikingly beautiful. :hap: :ausb: Hanging out on the cage. And oh look - on my fingers! Yeah!!!

Lump
I'm not really sure. I hope some of the experienced breeders can answer that for you? Could it be a fat pad? My overwieght budgie has a fat pad near her vent. It is getting a little smaller as she loses weight.

What Am I?
Do you think there is any spangle in the wings Nerwen?

Fruit Salad
I'm going to try the fruit kabob idea. Mine don't bother too much with fruit so far but they may go for a kabob assortment.

Previous Posting Re Backyard Breeder Concerns
I'm so glad to hear that. Often these spca visits cause a bandaid solution and then the owners revert back to their old ways. I really hope this guy has learned.

Cages
You are right - mine is the 24 inch one I think. Didn't even look at the sizes in her link. I'm also spoiled with my big 64 inch cage so the 24 inch seems so small to me now. The 24 inch doesn't allow room for flight just hovering.
-
Cages
I have this cage and it really isn't that big - I'd say 2 budgies max. I use it for my quarantine cage and I'll use it as a breeding cage in the future. It doesn't really allow for flight because there are only two 3 options for placing the perch - almost on floor, almost on roof, and near middle.

Moulting Madness
My Tweety had a bad moult about a month ago. She lost lots of feathers and she looked terrible - especially around her eyes. She now has them all back and looks beautful!!! She was clipped so didn't really affect her flying.

That Kind Of Person
There are so many poor animals/birds/reptiles that are poorly treated. It is sad!! Sometimes I think I'd rather not know because it is so upsetting. I'm glad this little one is coming to you for care.

What Babies
Forgot about that. Thanks Nerwen.

What Babies
Can't wait to hear what the experts say this combo would produce. I'm going to guess that you would get all Spangles for sure unless your hen is split for spangle, then you would get more double factors??? I think some (maybe all) would be pied spangles???

Favourite Toy
My birds love the homemade toys - here is Sylvester having a go. They especially love chewing the straws.
-
Birdie Bird
Definately the lighter pics. He sounds wonderful!!!
-
Introducing The Newly Named Goofy!
He's seems like a wonderful little budgie. I'm enjoying all the pics and I'm jealous of how tame he is already!!!!
-
The Hair Tie Fight
My birds love the homemade toys I make using cheap dollar store stuff better than any of the expensive toys. Anything with cut up straws of all things, is always a big hit.
-
More Beano
I love it when they hang from the top of cages, do somersaults, etc. He's a cutie!
-
Flying Goofy!
I definately enjoyed them all. I love number 7. How did you get him to lie in your hand if he isn't tame? Cool!!!
