I hear roos are like our deer very bountiful here we would only see them in the zoos ), nice pics.
  3. You have received good advice but I also advise as someone else has is if you have a bird that is sick and you are new to birds then an avian vet is essential, we can't diagnosis over the interent what is wrong with the bird, it needs to be examined by a professional avian vet, though this route my be cheaper the other route is smarter. . Keep us updated.

Welcome another American , I am over here in Ohio not to far from you and my aunt lives over in the Chicago area. Looking forward to getting to know you and your flock. We have a wonderful contest this month if you would like to enter called Budgie of the Month, it is located under the Competition Forum if you would like to take a peek.
  5. Very normal especially when they are calm and getting ready for sleep, I have read a budgie that doesn't do this could be a sick budgie when they are fluffed but if they are fluffed and on 1 foot it is an indication that they are okay since it requires strength and balance.
  6. Yes it is very clear for me, but see if you can tell her on back more as it looks lighter then her cheek patches.
  7. Welcome Welcome.... Daz is right you are in luck there are many great breeders here on the forum from Perth, we have a forum called Wanted Budgie where you can put a post on what you are looking for. If you do decide on an addition, unless you are not wanting to breed, I personally advise the same gender bird and also make sure you do a 30 day quarantine before you introduce your new bird to your existing bird. I believe Daz has a link in his signature about what quarantine is and the importance along with many posts and articles here that talk about the subject. We love pictures and we have a contest going this month called Budgie of the Month so if you are interested please submit a photo . Again, welcome.

  12. Merlin doesn't do it to me but Pretty used to do it to me all the time, I believe they are communicating something like here I am or if it is something they don't like they swoop at them (such as a stranger).
  13. put a smaller piece in and we have information in the FAQ about chosing a branches or you can buy them at the pet store if you feel safer that way, cuttlebone is also another excellent source of rubbing, chewing and also calcium.

  18. If he is over the age of 8 wks which I assume he is since he was sold then you don't need a lamp at all, I use a heater in my room that Merlin stays in to keep the room a constant 70 F degrees.
