Quarantine And Non-bird People
I agree lol a lot of people don't get it but I tell them did you know zoo's quarantine all the time, in fact a avian vet will tell you 90 days not the 30 days that we generally do.

Sick Bird
good choice on the oral form because birds don't drink a lot of water, keep us updated.

Crumble V Seed
We have excellent articles in the FAQ section about feeding a variety. It really shouldn't be verses but balanced if your bird will eat both then give him both, an all pellet diet is not good for them just like an all protein diet is not good for us, you need to have a variety of foods so they can get their food from different nutritional sources. :grbud:

Good Bye Charlie Girl
This happened to me with Pretty, in the AM he was fine by PM he was gone. If you are keeping the cage clean, food and water fresh, keeping them warm and out of draft in the end things like the above that happen truly are not your fault especially if your other one is okay. I ended up taking Merlin to the vet my remaining budgie to make sure is was okay and he was. Don't blame yourself there is nothing you probably could have done, budgies get sick and don't show signs of it until the end, and even if you got your budgie to the vet he may have still passed on. We did get Pretty to the vet and he still died. Big hugs. Post an RIP in our Loss Section, tell us about your little one, we all understand here.

Sick Bird
Brown can be a number of things it can indicate a respiratory infection (we can't diagnosis your bird) which can be very common in budgies and takes them down very quickly, waiting till Monday to get your bird into an avian vet is way too late that is a full week away. Your bird needs to be kept very warm at least 75F in a smaller cage, it is essential that your bird is eating if he stops that is NOT good, drinking is important the eating is more important. So is your bird still eating? What do the dropping look like now? If they are white and watery with no black that means your bird is not eating.

Budgies And Cockatiels
Space is the biggest issue and are you going to do any type of aviary breeding? Breeding budgies and I assume tiels can get very protective and this is where fights can led too. I believe Liv does closed breeding and not open aviary style breeding which is a factor in her success.

Food Variety
Kaz gave you good suggestions and probably some that were in the FAQ but if you go to the FAQ under the Health and Nutrition Section, there is a thread there too about having them eat different foods that will assist you too

Crazy Boy
I can't remember if he is clipped or not? This may be the reason, also he is still a baby and learning how to jump, I don't think it is on purpose to be honest.

New Budgie Owner
Just a note, you meant the lady quarantine her for you? If that is what you meant it doesn't work that way once a bird is moved it does become stressed and this is when illness can come out. I would keep an eye on them, in our FAQ sections we have a Health Sections that reviews signs of a sick and a healthy bird so you can know what to look for. .
