Danish Pied And A Violet?
Yeppers, I remember, I couldn't wrap my head around it either, I pm'd Neville, hopefully he will come and lets see what he says. I would say it would have to be a Dominant Pied or a Recessive that is showing it's rings, the only true way to know is if you breed the bird out.

Gorgeous, and I agree with Kaz.

Danish Pied And A Violet?
I agree it is very confusing...the signs of recessive pied too are the orange beak too, unless it is a fluke in the mutation. I do remember though Kaz had a bird that looked like a dominant pied but it was a recessive and it was a fact because she knew the heritage.

Head Spots On Budgies
is that bird a normal elly I was going more by the title of the post head spots on budgies and making a general statement which still covers his question about his bird too.

Head Spots On Budgies
If you see them on Spangles it doesn't mean they are split it is a normal part of the muation, if you see them on normals yes it means they are split for recessive (most likely).

Wolfy And Dee-mon
Have your pictures been removed because I can't see any picture? We had had a Siberan Husky, for 14 yrs, her name was Niketa, her picture is up on the board here somewhere

Is This Right To Get All The Same Type
You will have a chance of 25% double factor spangle 50% single factor 25% normals All birds will be green birds You will have a chance of 25% double factor grey green 50% Grey Greens 25% normal greens If they are both split for blue you have a 25% chance of blues You will have 100% opalines There are always surprises depending if the male is split for any sex-linked genes and if both are carrying the same recessive genes.

Having A Little Too Much Fun...
Also just like we advise for those that have single budgies make sure you are giving them enough cover time, for those getting frisky it is recommended to keep them covered for 12-14 hours for at least 2 weeks, and then 10-12 hours regularly, birds have cycles and it based on daylight hours being longer, running water around or near the cage.

Lutino Yellow Budgies
Either way masking and split are 2 different meanings , I don't want him to get the terminology wrong and others be confused. Masking means covering up say example the marking of the spangle bird. Split means that a dominant gene is dominant over a recessive gene. Meaning that there are 2 alleles and one is carrying the dominant gene and the other the recessive gene. Spangle is not recessive gene to any gene that I am aware of, it is even dominant over the normals. I am sure that is clear as mud.

Got The Photo To Compare To Lacewing
There is no such thing as a Black Eyed Clear there is a Black Eyed Self, which we do have the description on our mutation page in the FAQ's, I am not the best at identifying them but that is what he looks like to me.
-
Lutino Yellow Budgies
Spangle is a dominant gene they are not split to spangle. If they show the marking of a Spangle they are a Single Factor Spangle If they don't show the marking of a Spangle they are a Double Factor Spangle I just wanted clear that up so you know .

What Will These 2 Produce?
Glad you saw that elly, i thought the same thing about the cinnamon around the throat... i didn't really think it was correct at first... so i didn't bring it up. Yeah, I do that too and then I snap my fingers and said but I wanted to say that but I didn't want to look wrong lol plus sometimes it is my computer screen and people don't see what I do.

Egg Laying
It is best to either 1 let her lay on them and finish her cycle because if you take them she may keep laying OR 2 remove those eggs and put in fake eggs (that is what a lot of people do) and then once she is tired of them then remove them. Leave her alone through the process because honestly she doesn't understand that you are trying to help her it is like a female dog with puppies their attitudes change when they feel they need to protect it is nature. When she is going through the cycle leave her alone, change out the eggs, do the different change of covering her etc...and once she is thrown off this cycle she will return to the hen you once knew. When she is done with all this that is when you can get her wings clipped not before. Laying eggs is stressful, worrying about protecting them plus you don't want to be holding her to clip her wings and she has an unlayed egg inside that can break. Keep us updated.

Sick Budgie?
This is very sad, I am sorry to hear this. An expert would never say that the bird has a cold they don't get colds they get respiratory infections that are not okay when left alone I know that is how I lost Pretty. Before you sell the other one, which I saw up on the board PLEASE wait at least a month to ensure that this bird is NOT sick and you will be giving her to a good home in good faith. Good luck and sorry for your loss. :what:

My Birds Very Ill Now
We are not vets on here and can't diagnosis your bird but I can tell you that the dropping do not look normal. Has she had a diet change? Any new fruits and veggies that you have introduced within the last 24 hours? Is she molting at all? Has she been seeming more flirty and wanting to nest in different areas? If you are concerned then I would book an avian vet appointment to be sure she is okay and save some of the dropping for him to examine. Any bird that has a drastic change in behavior is most likely sick.

Lutino Yellow Budgies
If you are talking of the cock with the blue cere that is yellow yes that is NOT a lutino. Good point mattdog, did you quarnatine?
-
Change In Cere Colour..
Yes certain mutations such as the recessive pied we are talking about do keep their pink cere. What I did notice is that when Pretty was more in breeding condition for a male his cere would become a deeper pink maybe this is what is happening. But you said you see brown is that actually on the cere or above the nostrils on the feathers (which can indicate respiratory issues). From the picture I see he looks male.

Scam?
Oh yes, I started a post about this some months back and Kaz and I had fun posting our **** e-mails lol :what:

What Will These 2 Produce?
You will have 100% Normal Greens unless the Cock bird is split for Dilute. If that is the case you would have 50% chance of normals & 50% chance dilutes. The hen looks like she has cinnamon throat spots, if that is correct then the male offspring will be split to cinnamon. Her cheek spots look Greyish so she may also be a Grey Green Dilute in which case you will have a chance of Grey Greens too.
