  2. Awe what a cutie, and thanks for stopping into the forum
  3. I agree with Sunday on why people don't accept or say they don't like this or that. She is a cutie Cathy
  4. I agree with Kaz on the mutations as long as she had red eyes (I can't tell) they look young like around the 3-4 month mark.
  5. thank you all
  6. Your welcome, anytime. Tip though, male budgie = veru flirty so I know that more cover time does work
  7. He is so flirty with me, when we came back from vacation he tried to step on my nose while he was kissing it. Anyone who says your pets forget you after 10 days is full of it they so remember and are so happy to see you including a sweet little budgie. He loves to walk all over my keyboard and peck it, sit on my shoulder and preen my hair, I would have gotten him out of his cage but the dogs were walking around and I didn't want to miss the bath shot, he talks I will try and get him on video I can't even remember everything he says anymore and the whistles he mimics all the time. He says, Pretty baby, pretty boy, hey baby boy, sweet baby and then he mixes it all up and I know there is more too. I always think of getting another budgie but the right one hasn't come so I really enjoy him completely, his cage is right behind my computer chair so he is will me whenever I am on the puter. I am glad I have a big cage for him because he doesn't get out as much as I would like but when he does he is in my room with me and he flies around (not clipped). Our piano is in the same room so when Hailey practices he loves to sing along with her and she gets annoyed because he can get so happy and noisy especially when she is playing a fast song.Does that help? I know I don't say much or post as many pics anymore but when there is only 1 there isn't much to say sometimes. thank you it is really a ladder that I bought and made into a swing he loves it because it is soft on his feet.
  8. Yeah I know I think it was too bright with the sun coming in and the background lighting because there was no flash. At least his throat and cheek spots stayed true to color. LOL thanks, he is a lucky bird his cage is almost always clean
  9. ((hugs)), sorry for your loss.
  10. I know it has been a while since I have posted pictures of handsome Merlin here he is being cheeky and taking a bath .
  11. sounds very encouraging, keep doing what you are doing.
  12. Ah...well you should be able to put the 2 brothers' cages side by side and let them interact this way, if you find they are doing okay, let them out together, the older one may get bossy and try to step on the back of the younger one, sometimes I think that is more dominance then a mating ritual, it happened with Pretty and Merlin in the beginning because they were the same age apart as your 2 boys within a week everything settled down and I was able to keep them in the same cage during the day and then at night. In the FAQ there is an article about how to introduce 2 new budgies together you might want to read too.
  13. they are all in seperate cages? Why? To reintroduce them which I can't image it has been that long since they are only 3 months you can put the cages side by side and let them out together if you let your birds out and they will get reintroduced.

Congrats on all your awards Renee!
  15. Welcome to the forums
  16. if they are brothers aren't they still together?
  17. I agree, Pretty and Merlin were awesome together
  18. As said that is the rule of thumb but many budgies don't follow that rule so if you don't want them to mate then I would not have them together.
  19. I agree SJW the grey factor on a blue bird makes the bird grey not split, grey is an added color just like violet.
  20. Merlin is very flirty with me too, Pretty was too when he was the sole budgie, when you find they are going through that flirty stage you can give them extra cover hours for a week or 2 and that will calm the hormones, they will always tend to flirt that is okay but if gets to a point that you don't approve then you can take action .

Welcome, great to have you here
  22. All joking aside, as Kaz said this is very normal for a single budgie to act this way they do bond to their humans. This is why a lot of people just have a single budgie because the bond is stronger. If you don't like it of course you can put some kind and gentle no's in place they do understand that along with not giving them an opportunity to flirt like that.
  23. We had a couple member come here with the same issue, I believe you could do a search for growth and if you want you could read up on what happened. Please keep us updated, would love to see pics.
  24. They are all 100% Dominant Pied, I don't see any opaline in the babies. The mom is an opaline Dominant Pied so any male off spring are split for opaline As Jodie said, both parents are carrying the blue gene. Welcome to the forums . To have the babies sexed better you will need to get a picture of their cere with no flash and post in the What Sex is my Budgie forum .
  25. great news glad she is coming along
