  12. That was my thoughts so pretty looks like a "wild" budgie flock hehe...are they are sibling?
  13. Erin, I would work on trying to get her used to you. I read that you had her for 4 months did you try to tame her or haven't started yet? It is best to gt the bird used to handling especially if she ever needs to go to an avian vet for any reason. Also the prime reason is washing the cage with her in it is not best. You can do some dry work like taking a paper towel and wiping off dry poo and such but your monthly cleaning she should be removed. How big is your cage?
  14. Welcome you have received excellent advice.
  15. Yes I wish I could have made them bigger but I couldn't

  20. Welcome, he is a gorgeous bird I hope you submitted one of those pictures for our contest May Budgie of the Month!! He certainly is a cutie.
  21. could you cover them with something soft for their feet?
  22. No you have to have a male that is split to cinnamon and all his hen offspring will be cinnamon but if you want male cinnamons then both parents need to give the gene to the male offspring they will need 2 of the genes to visually show the cinnamon coloring. So that means the male can be split and bred to a cinnamon hen or you have 2 cinnamon birds.
  23. I know you want to keep the spangle markings as defined as possible so adding the cinnamon gene is probably not the best idea. Though because cinnamon is sex-linked you will not get an babies that are cinnamon only the males will be split for the gene, unless the dad is carrying it and gives it to his hens therefore if you do get a spangle it can wash out the spangle marking. This is my logic, so I could be way off (Laughing out loud).
  24. With blue it is simple a blue bird is the absent of the yellow gene because blue + yellow = green the yellow face gene is more complicated with many double factor genes it seems to really change the mutation or leave it absent in color example a double factor spangle no longer as the spangle markings, a double factor dominant pied as very little pied markings, for me I don't get into too much depth of trying to understand the reason behind natures work but I accept that it happens and then I can help with the outcomes .
