I would just request doctor so and so when you make the appointment...or take Liv up on her suggestion for clipping but if he is sick when you call I wouldn't make a deal say I would like doctor so and so and see if they do it and question it.
  2. good thing I am not judging this would be a hard hard contest to vote on ...keep the pictures coming they are all so fanastic!
  3. Elly replied to Neat's topic in New to BBC

I think he missed me he is still a little distance with the hand and my desk but then everything is changed around so I am just letting him get used to me again. He jumps on my finger but flys back to the cage .
  6. WOW they are both stunning birds, I would love to see the back of her too.
  7. "blush" opps sorry I think the whole first post then the reply messed me up (well that is my excuse ) I agree completely, not to the point of tame but to the point of tolerance where she is not in panic mode when you are cleaning because they can break a wing or feathers flapping around.

Yes very happy to have him back
  9. Yes there are Neat #3 & #15 are clearflights I ask about #2 if it has iris rings or even how old the bird is because it looks like a double factor pied but if it is over the age of 6-8 months then Norm is correct recessive. as for the clearwings, I tend to lean toward greywings or dilutes because clearflights have bright bodies these birds don't show that in the pics
  10. okay here are the top 3 Finalists!!! If you have any questions on the voting feel free to reply or PM.
  11. I always thought the Double Factor Yellow Face Gene shows a visually white face blue series bird?
  12. Yes I would say DEC #2 does he have iris rings?
  13. use the seed, before you feed him use the seed for training perfect tool , you can cup it in your hand and then have him perch on the other ...sounds like everything is going well.
  14. DEC have no iris ring Double Factor Spangles do have an iris ring if you have a better picture of the bird's front and back that would be good

Oh yes thank you for the reminder
  16. I believe there may be either more than one allele, or even more than one gene for opaline, since I have personally bred a normal hen out of a pair of opalines, which is theoretically impossible. So perhaps this is the case with cinnamon and ino. No one really knows exactly what goes on in DNA soup. This is very interest, the question probably asked was the baby closed bred or was the egg fertilzed by another cock and then separated with you knowing? Sperm can stay alive I read for a week.
  17. Best of the Breed Lacewing Genetics - this is the one that speaks of the mutation of the cinnamon to act like a normal. Our World - this article I didn't read yet
  18. Here is Anne (rainbow)' Rainbow Name: Rainbow Sex: Male Color: Mauve Other Mutations: Clearflight, Dilute, Opaline, Type 2 Goldenface Here is the direct link http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....c=18989&hl=
  19. Double Factor Pieds usually don't have marking on the wings but around the neck more they look almost markless, the ones that throwback has are Single Factor Clearflighted Pieds...here is the page for all the member's Dominant Pieds (I looked and don't see a double factor but I may have missed it) http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=9579
  20. Don't know. I wonder if it is possible for the gene to unlink again and the odd ino hen to come out of that pairing? I have read that the cinnamon gene can convert or mutate back over and act like an normal and therefore you would only have the ino gene but you would have to test the bird to see if this really happened. I have found a couple interesting sites on the lacewing.

I gave him a lot in case he wanted to take a bath :offtopic:
  22. Not true they can be split for Lacewing because it is a composite of variety of lutino/albino and cinnamon which are both sex-linked genes (meaning they reside on the x-chromosome) a different allele then the spangle gene. If I bred my DFS hen to a white Lacewing cock what would the chicks be? - the cock is split to spangle and albino and melanistic spangle. Now the lacewing cock is not split to ino because the ino & cinnamon gene combined is what makes him a lacewing now as for spangle & melanistic spangle I thought they reside on the same allele so they have to be 1 or the other not both. What you would have is this paring Double Factor Hen x Spangle or M. Spangle Lacewing Cock You would have a 50% chance of Doubles Factors & 50% chance of Single Factor Spangles As for the Lacewing Gene, you could have lacewing chicks and they will all be females. I am pretty sure I did this right, it is early :offtopic:
  23. this is funny (Laughing out loud), he is not even a pound and they have total control :offtopic:
