  1. The hardest thing to ignore is the begging you know budgies DO beg, he is either hanging on the cage bars or on the platform eyeing me like "give me milet", his head is very itchy too because he molted a lot off by the cere so he looks patchy now, I wish he would let me scratch his head he is rubbing it on the cage bars now.
  2. The tail and the flights could be comprised because of the dominant pied gene and the dilute gene (on the pics I saw they don't have much in the way of coloring). I would also expect it to be darker in the TCB too especially from the pictures I observed but when you have several mutations coming together you have to expect the unexpected. I believe taking her there to be evaluated would be a good decision other then breeding her genes out and seeing what she is really genetically made of
  3. An update: last night I decided to take away the millet for the night and when he woke up I knew he would be hungry. I gave him his veggies he nibbled them and I put the seed on top which he didn't touch after much begging and the eye to me lol he finally jumped up on his food dish and did a nibble and did it a couple times. So I am going to do this to get him more intrigued into eating his seed and veggies and not the millet and wean him off of it. He is checking out the bottom of the cage now for millet seeds fallen LOL, I will give him some here in about a couple hours as I don't want what happened before but this is where we are now.
  4. I love paintings, it is beautiful MB great find.
  5. Though Kaz, I say TCB because the body color I believe would be more green and it is yellow like a TCB, when I looked up pictures of just a dilute green the body is much more green plus she has a green suffision under the tail. How far to you have her heritage? Maybe the TCB has finally come out in her heritage?
  6. Now that is all sorted out I think she is a Diluted Grey Green Dominant Pied Texas Clearbody I add dilute because the TCB standard is that the wings are to be darker and her's are lighter so something is diluting it and because it looks like an 80% fade & there is very little marking on the head. I go with dilute vs greywing because that is only a 50% fade, I say greygreen because the cheeks patches are silvery. All these lay on different alleles so there is no reason why you can't have this combo. TCB - Sex linked Dilute/Greywing - lay on the same allele so it is 1 or the other Dominant Pied - own allele The blue bird isn't a TCB though because it has the blue body color and not the white so she would be a SkyBlue Greywing Dominant Pied - I say greywing because the grey is not as light as the first picture from what my eye can see - only about a 50% dilutation on that bird.
  7. Sorry it is hard to tell on the screen at times is she a grey or a cinnamon marked? Just making sure I am sure I can go through the gobs of posts so if you can help me out here thanks.
  8. okay, someone must have somewhere in there I read..do she have red eyes or black with normal iris rings?
  9. You said she does have plum eyes Kaz? I can't tell on my screen. In doing some research before I posted I believe she is a Dominat Pied Lacewing. Features: Dominant Pied becaues of the wing pattern. Lacewing traits because the budgie is yellow with the suffision under the tail, marking on the head and wings show up a light cinnamon, body color is slightly visible in the wing pattern, plum eyes, cheeks patches are a pale violet.
  10. okay, the key is to find my "new word or statement for the week" see if you can find it over the week and post it here what I used and where i used it
  11. this one needs to be enlarged and submitted for Budgie of the Month it is a WINNER
  12. I agree with what everyone is saying here, I am no expert on building an avairy but those with the nicest aviary still experience pest issues and have learned the hard way that is why they are always updating to their aviaries and learning how to keep them safer for their birds and they share it here. I feel fortunate to be part of this forum because of the advice I can get and how to improve myself for my birds. I also believe that anyone that can have an outdoor aviary is very luck (as where I live I can't because of the weather conditiions) so to me your are very luck to be able to have an aviary.
  13. Just fabulous Kaz & Ken, the "girls" look great, I love the bumper sticker on Ms Lily and I love the name you gave the car it so fits!!! Thanks for all the pictures..I am going to show them to Tim.

ew....I think finding it is ew...I know when we did the mice traps here I couldn't bare to look at them dead, even though they are pest I do feel for them but I am sure that feeling is turned more into anger and non feeling once they are continously bothersome...

  17. Try millet that is what I did when Merlin stopped eating if that doesn't help you will need to hand feed because they do go down fast without eating, I just experienced this with Merlin. Keep an eye on the poo's if he is eating there will be black in them if not then just white and sloppy.
  18. Yes please keep us posted. ((hugs))
  19. I think the best thing you can do to put your mind at ease is find out how much a necropy is on a bird like this and manybe you can find out answers if you haven't buried him yet. It honestly sounds like he may have had a stroke but you know I don't know. Anyways....please don't get upset with us many are trying to help with suggests. We know you are upset. Take time to mourn him and take a break from the forum, I did that when Pretty died, I was devestated hugs
  20. OMG Kaz the picture that maisie pulled out of the bunch is awesome, great Caption Contest (haven't had one of those) or of course a budgie of the month entry (you know you can submit too ). They look wonderful congrats on your results.

Welcome :hap:, budgies are addicting for sure that is why I stay out of the pet shops too . Though I do advise before adding more ensure you do have a place to quaretine, not doing so is taking a great risk on introducing illness to your existing flock.
  22. Oh yes I remember now , that name suits him
  23. :hap: Merlin is like that I usually put the camera by the bar spaces and zoom in other then that if he is out he will fly on the camera too.
  24. they are adorable AV
