  1. Well I have a budgie on strike too.... Have you tried millet sprays Deb, most budgies can't seem to resist them and if you can get her going that route maybe she will get more interested in seed. Also do you have a "mentor" bird that she can hang out with during the day a lot of times if they see another bird chowing on seed they will pick up the habit much more quicker.
  2. Yes updated Please

Sounds like it was all good and clear from her comment, glad everything is okay.
  4. Falki, I am no expert on appearance on who to pick but since you have the hens' background you could work through the expections and decide which expection you would want the most?
  5. Welcome to the forums, I second what Kaz and Neat have told you

  7. Thank you for posting , very interesting indeed.
  8. Well I will just update this post. Today I gave him his veggies and added seed to the top he nibbled at the veggies but didn't eat the seed (SO ODD), and when I put the millet spray in the container he refused to eat it I had to make it hang over. He pecked at the container but refused to get up on it. I wonder instead of the food change if something scared him and I didn't know about it? Other then that he looks good, singing, poo's are good just being very odd about the food container. OH and yes I did put the seed in another dish still the same thing won't touch it.
  9. If you are having all black poos and he his constipated I believe he is not drinking enough water, white poos indicate urine and you haven't said anything about that. Do you see him drink or can you encourage him to drink more?
  10. I am SOOO happy you had a great time!!! Thank you for sharing.
  11. We don't force members to post pictures with their suggestion because that is their own "personal" information if they chose to great if they don't that is okay. Your suggestion is well taken and if you do searches you will find that many members have started topics on how they are building their aviary along with pictures of where they have been placed etc...
  12. I am horrible with thinking up of names, it takes me forever to name my own animals . I tend to gear toward names that have meaning like if he is going to be red, I go to the website and look up names that mean red.

    thank you all
  19. they sound adorable ,I would recommend is that you actually teach them to come out of the cage with the step-up command or to have them step-up instead of just coming out on their own because their door could get undone accidently or you may need to get in there for a second and when they do gain more confidence they may just try and fly out, by teaching them the step-up is the only time to come out it is safer. That is what I had read and that is what I did with Merlin, Pretty did what he wanted it was before I read it .
