Father's Day? That is in June for us so YES for my husband lol he got Golf Clubs. Are you ready for Christmas?
  2. I don't think mites is very common if they are indoor birds and you are not bringing in new birds. I would say he is having a bad molt right there and it is itching pretty bad, you can buy the Molt Aide (I believe Kaz suggested it for me once) and spray him that will help him out a lot along with offering bathes.
  3. Good to hear your vet was hot JUST Joking...don't you just love and hate that at the same time Anyways, I hope the birds continue in a forward motion and everything is okay and nothing more serious happens.
  4. I love all those pictures, Roxy is such an amazing color I absolutely love her. The last picture would be awesome to submit for Budgie of the Month

I agree with what everyone said but if you are concerned take Kaz's advice and check out one of the birds .
  6. they are cute, the 4th picture is so cute Budgie of the Month Submission , congrats on the babies.
  7. SW is right it could take less then a year but you do want to ensure you have a bond with them before you add another one. I can tell you I had Pretty for 9 months and I a bond with him but when I did bring Merlin into the picture though he stay tamed, he did stop talking, and giving me the affection as much. Budgies would rather be with their own kind and that is not a bad thing it is a good thing but what a lot of people don't realize is the relatioship does change and they may NOT like it.
  8. I wish I did but mine were never that fun

Whew said Elly you are a life save but then Deb said SHHHHH I hear something....
  12. Article about Piggies Per this article yes they can. Guinea pigs can catch colds from people, especially as the cold virus lives on the palms of our hands which we use to stroke our piggies. So colds are always going to happen, even when your piggies don’t seem to have a source of infection you will pass them on.

In the morning instead of just removing the cover do it gradually, I uncover Merlin from the front and then in an hour I take the whole cover off that helps them adjust to the cover being completely off.
  15. If you are serious about breeding them then they need their own cages and nest box, this is best so there are no fights for nest boxes and over the hens etc...that would be my advice. If you don't want babies you can addle the eggs and pitch them. I am sure you will get other advice too.
  16. WOW what a close vote it was this month!! Aaron pulled in front with his cute picture of his budgies...Congrats Aaron. Give us a little background on your budgies please :hap:

  20. The first molt on a budgie is around 3-4 months, he is probably going through is 2nd molt by this age, loosing a tail feather and other feathers are very common with a molt, if your budgie had french molt it would have been idenfied at a very early age and he would most likely have difficulty flying or could not at all. No question is stupid, thank you for asking. If you like posting a picture of him on this post would be very helpful.
