I would love another Princess, but the ones that look the most like her are her sons.. But I would love a hen like her... I had her inside with fred for a year and she never bit once. Even her babies are very placid and of course Fred is too. She doesn't even bite now when I pick her up. Her second baby hatched today... with 5 eggs to go for her..

I would not breed her at 5 years old, especially it being her first clutch! That is just my opinion. I am sure that other breeders will give you info too. How many other birds have you got? If you are not breeding others take the nesting boxes out. 4 years is old enough.

Hi I want to know what these birds are ? I think they are Opaline spangle dominant pied and recessive pied. She is the recessive kind. This is the dominant kind. What do you think?

Hello everybody 3 more eggs hatched this morning... Pascal and Light have 2 now. I think they look gorgeous! This is Thunder and Sky. Their first one hatched this morning too. I have more but have to go and take my nephew out so will be back and show you all the others..

Can you post some pics please . we can have a look at your youngest too. If Mum and dad are feeding him/her it should be okay..

Are you colony breeding? Have you tried breeding cages? She may have bread in cages if she has bread before. Or the breder that sold her may have know this about her and got rid of her.. If she is going to sit for you she shoundn't be mating still. I'd take the eggs away if you want her to have more.. She should start to sit day 3 at the lattest, while she is still laying. make sure she has not been chased out at night by any other hens..

Hi, bird one is a boy and bird two is a girl..

Here are my first parents and they are first time parents their baby hatched this morning... Mum and Dad on the left... And here is the little one, hope you like. I took this not long after he/she hatched and this afternoon it had been fed so Mum and Dad are being good... More should be hatching tomorrow..

Thanks Rainbow, she is a cutie and your Crystal is just gorgeous they would make nice babies.. Creek in the aviary has taken a likeing to her but they are so different in size. He is my biggest bird and she is an average size.. I am going to worrie if I put them together.. Her best friend is Cross another female...they stick together! Hi nerwen does it say somewhere that that combination is imposibale have a look at this one. What do you think?? Should have a baby tomorrow.. Lets hope..

okay you can't see cloud he is behind his dad so here are more pics This is Baby sky's back what would you call her wing markings? (daughter) Son again another daughter.

okay here are the pictures of some of my birds.. I hope you can follow this. I haven't had time to get new pics so I am useing what I have.. First picture is the dad 3rd from the left on the perch, Mum is on the wire up the top thats her back, I don't have many of her. ( she is not very social). Now the second on the perch is their daughter, and their son on the wire spangle. the 2nd and the 3rd on the perch are their babies as well.. Hope you can work it all out... This is pascal what would you call him? His with his mate the first 2 on the perch...the yellow one!

I will go and see what pics I have of them and take some if I need to...I also will get pics of the babies they have had already. I am pretty sure they have all stop laying now. :nest: 3 pairs have 6 eggs ... and 1 has 7 eggs . 1 of the 7 has a little crack in it so I'm not sure how that 1 will go! Not sure what happend there, princess hasn't put it out, and noing her it may still hatch.. Not long now..

I know what you mean nerwen.. :budgiedance: But no others got to her because I breed in separate breeding boxes.. I will see what they bring out this time because they have 6 eggs.. soon to start hatching.. I have got a violet / cobalt spangle from them as well...

I was just reading a book and it has a little bit on combinations, even says about rainbow pieds but the combinations are endless.. So I would say that he is a Opaline spangle pied.. His mum and dad are the 2 birds on the right in my sig.. He is a normal cobalt/ he must be split for opaline.. his first mate was opaline and they only gave me opalines...
