How do I get these colours?
These colours have been on here before, but anyway I think I was very tired when I posted in this thread.. Bea is right about the Violet and Grey being that colour. They are dominant genes and can not carry them as split. A Violet or grey bird would show them in one way or another. To get them you need a parent of that colour.. Albino is recessive so blue or geen budgies can carry it. A good way is to get a blue male split for albino and mate him with a blue hen. Rainbows: Combination of yellowface type 2, opaline and whitewing..

will they mate?
I agree with boomberry make sure your 4 month old hen does not try breeding before 1 year old.. Your albino sounds like she may start to breed soon.

What a day!
Can you walk to the vets with your bird? He/she may help you anyway. It's worth a try. When my parents said no.. I was 13 and I just walked up the road to the vets with my bird in my hand..The vet helped me out with no coast.. Good luck with yours..

I have a bit off a problem
Hi Sarah I had a female that seem to be unsettled, she was off her eggs more than any of the others so I wasn't hopeful for them, but hey they have hatched and only now she seems to be very settled.. I used to have quails but only ever put one female with one male and they were fine and so were the babies. I removed the young male when they started to fight..

Please Help
I have just been out to check, and all is going well. The babies are warm but I will still bring them in. Dad knows that I am going to take them, he never comes near me and when I was checking the babies he came in and just nibble at my fingers softly.. You know I only took mum away yesterday and the little pin feathers are starting to come through and the little one is getting some fluff I can see the different already. The one I have fostered out is doing well also!

Please Help
I can hand feed them but I am not confindent, you have to not get it in their wind pipe and OMG what if I do?? They will die in pain.. Good news though I have put them back with dad today and he is feeding them so I might take them in at night and put them back in the morning.. I did feed them a little last night. They are full little ones with dad at the moment so that is good! I will bring them in again tonight.. I don't turn the light off untill 8 or 9pm at night and will put them back around 5 or 6am with the light on... fingers crossed

He is a good dad but he is looking for his hen... Thanks hath, I have heard of the spray but the vet didn't say anything to me today about it.. Do you think I should foster the rest out ?? I think there is to many thats all, and I am putting the other mums and dads under alot of strain.. the other 3 pairs have 6, 7, and 5 with 1 egg left.
