:bb: Hi eterri Good luck on what ever you decide to do. I think you would be a great breeder. I know all the people I sell to and they ring me for any advice I can give them, If they have concerns. I help them as much as I can and I know they are in good homes. I have never sold to any pet stores, I just can't come at it. Good luck with your venture.

It all sounds like they are doing well. When you say they have hatched earily how many days are you expecting them to hatch? I agree with you rainbow and Bea those babies are not 1 week old at least 2 and a half to 3 and a half weeks. Hope all you babies are healthy. keep us posted and try posting some pictures. :ygbudgie:

It has never happend to me but thats not to say it doesn't happen. Your hen should cope with the feeding and your oldest chick may even help. I have had a hen who got very cross with her mate when he tryed to feed the chicks it seemed that she was the only one to feed them. He just had to feed her. But normally they share the feeding, after the first week or so. As I said before just watch when they start to come out you don't want her under stress with the demand feeding she may attack again. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Kcooper, How disappointing for you and very sad. It must make you very mad . Has your hen showed aggression befor this? She should look after the babies but you will have to watch her because she may turn on the babies especialy when they start to come out of the nest, and ask her for food. Can you look in at the babies in the nest? If so just keep your eyes and ears open I hope it all works out and good luck. Also you could get hand feeding mix from your local avian vet and hand rear the chicks, if you don't want to take any chances. Good luck.

I don't think you did anything wrong it's just that some budgies can get upset eaiser than others. Also you said that only 1 was fertile so she probably new that the others were not and has eaten them. The 1 that was fertile, may have died. It is all a big QUESTION and very sad for you. You should let them have a 2nd round and see how you go. How old are they? Good luck and keep us posted.
