Is she gonna lay?
Hi Chris It does seem like they want to breed. How old are your birds more so your hen? Just be careful that she is not to over weight if she does have eggs and babies she may sit heavy and hurt the bubs if any. When they are mateing are they on a perch? If not it will be very hard for the eggs to be fertile. good luck and keep us posted.

Baby Budgies
I would suspect that if they havn't change in colour that they will sill be just yolk and the white inside. (not fertile) But for you I hope they are fertile good luck with the candleling.

Baby Budgies
Just checked the other 2 eggs , they seem to be still "white". Bubs are 6 to 7 days old, so one would think that the other 2 would have hatched by now if they were going to. And I had a thought, if they did, wouldnt the other 2 chicks be just so much bigger that the new ones & maybe in danger of surviving?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Bev, if you are sure the eggs were layed a couple of days apart they are probably not fertile. Is she still sitting on them? As far as them being bigger than any new ones that may come along, I don't think that matters if they have very good parents. Fred and Princess hatched 7 babies she had the first 5 hatch then a gap then the last 2 they ended up being 11 days apart thats between 1 and 7. I have never had runts I think that has something to do with good parents again. I did think that 7 eggs were to many and considered taking the last 2 eggs off her, I didn't and 6 and 7 bubs were the biggest out of them all . Very nice birds I must say. If she is still sitting on them leave them under her it is not going to matter. Keep us posted Bev.

Good luck fakahany I hope your babies are going to be alright. The feathers will grow back when they are away from the culprit. It makes you mad when something like this happens and very sad! doesn't it? but they should look okay when they get there feathers back. Just have to get through the next week. Keep us posted and good luck again.

FAKAHANY Hi again like I said last night to you on the other post your last 2 babies have been plucked. How is the other one going? You haven't said yet how old is the young 1?? If about 5 weeks it might start feeding it's self put it in a cage so you can keep an eye on it, watch it and see if it can eat.Put the older sibblings in with it they might help feed it. Good luck

2 males 1 female
I agree with more males than females your hens will fight more over nests and things.

3 weeks old- leaving nest....
Some times it is hard to tell you what to do because they are so different. Some of mine start to have eggs before the last couple of babies are out. So I just take the eggs of them and if I have another pair breeding I might give them the eggs. I only block the nest when the last baby comes out.

female attacking male
Hi there, yes I think that would be a great idea or just take the male out and put him with her. Good luck
-
Egg Eaten
Hi Bev I don't think her being an inside bird would lead to her eating eggs, she may have got the taste for them when she had to clean it off her chest. As for the calcium I think you can buy calcium blocks from some pet stores or the produce stores.

other bird hurting the breeding couple
.. You can't stop them from mateing unless you split the boys from girls. If they have started to lay eggs for the third time and still have young in the nest you can put those eggs in with another female who is sisting for the first or second time. then when the babies are out of the nest block the nest or take it out. good luck. (just fixed your quote no rule breaking here -N)

boy or girl
I think you have got a defeinte cock bird and here is a photo of a recessive cock bird for you to compair. I hope this helps you. My friends had 2 cock birds together untill I told them that they had 2 males so I got them a female and they gave me 1 of the males. Just get a female for him and he will be fine. good luck and keep us posted.

Egg Eaten
I agree with hath Bev when they get the taste for egg it is hard for them to stop eating.. Good luck with your other hen. Have you got shell grit for the birds mine go mad for it and do have it all the time. Also the cuttlefish is good for them.
