Last night i got a photo that allows me to have a complete yawning collection of my indoor flock. I've been wanting this for ages but Mr Ozzie never seems to yawn, (Laughing out loud)...until now! or

Here's some piccies of my two gorgeous boys. First up is Ozzie, the most handsome pudgie budgie in the world! I have NEVER seen him look as fat as he does in this photo, (Laughing out loud)!!! Isn't he cute? And Lord Blinkie AKA Mr Sexy And some photos of both of them together. I love these two photos, in one Blinkie looks adorable while Ozzie glares and in the other Ozzie puts on a cute face while Blinkie glares.

Gave all the birds a veggie snack today. Indoor birds got a chopped up salad of bok choy, snow pea sprouts and grated carrot while the aviary budgies enjoyed a carrot skewered on one of those fruit/veg holders you can buy at pet shops, they LOVED it. Here's some photos of both the budgies and the tiels. Cookie was the first to dig into the veggies... She was sitting on the plate for AGES, the bottoms of her feet were ORANGE by the time she finished. Then Blinkie came over to see what was on the menu today. Bailee was next to join in. And Ozzie, insulted that i've started calling him fat instead of porky, wouldn't touch them!! Very unusual!! But he was VERY busy checking himself out in the exercise bike handles and in the many photo frames around the place. I just have to add this last photo of Cookie when she finally finished eating. She's so messy!! And i almost forgot but here's two photos, one of Gerri and one of Jen. They were the only two in the aviary that couldn't keep the carrot off their feathers, (Laughing out loud)!

I would love to know how to grow snow pea sprouts too! I buy them from the supermarket for my guys. You're budgies are looking gorgeous! :ausb: Definitely enjoying their sprouts there. Have you seen the latest photos of the babies you gave me? They're all grown up now!
  5. 8-10 days you could probably just see the tail pins but i'm not sure how well. The first couple of babies it should be easy but the younger ones in the clutch seem to grow slower. If you're using closed bands (for showing) you would need to be banding at more like 5-7 days i think, 8-10 days would be too late and you wouldn't be able to get the band on.
  6. I have always thought that a lacewing was a combination of -ino and cinnamon. Is this incorrect? I ask because i recently stated this on another forum "lacewing is a combination of two sex linked genes, not one. It's a combination of -ino and cinnamon" and someone replied that they wouldn't even get into that argument but gave me a link to a site of professional show breeder and said if i wanted to take it up with him i should go for it. :hap: So now i'm really confused, obviously. Have i been wrong all along?

We all know that i am forever joking about Ozzie's fat tum. But after weighing him last night and finding that he had gained 3g since i weighed him 9 days ago, making him 47g and 10g heavier than Blinkie, i'm worrying that he's gone from cute pudgie budgie to just being overweight (but still extraodinarily cute). I already measure their seed (i guess Ozzie's eating more that his share), they get pellets sprinkled on top of their seed and they get plenty of veggies. I rarely give them millet and seed sticks are restricted to xmas pressies. They're out of the cage for 4+ hours everyday and Ozzie certainly spends this time running and flying around the place. I'm not sure how he's putting on this weight. :hap: Is there some way i can get him to slim down without affecting poor well toned Blinkie.

Looks like one of each to me. Male on the left, female on the right (seems to have more white on cere than the other). Let's see what others think.

We all know that Blinkie looooves his mirror. Well so does Ozzie and here's some photos of him trying to sneakily get a look at it. If all you want for him is company why not get a second to tame and live indoors with him?

Not at all. They just sit wherever i put them and look cute.

He sure is, at times i have to be careful because if he flirts with her too much she's more than happy to allow him to mate (hasn't happened cause i'm always shooing him away), when it gets like that i kidnap her and hide her safely on my lap.

If they could fly i certainly would. Bailee can flutter from point to point usually ending in a crash landing. Cookie has grown in a lot of her flight feathers but is yet to fly. I think she might of been clipped too early and as a result she might have more trouble figuiring out her wings.
