Welcome to the forums! Good to see another Canberran! :bluebudgie: Your new budgies are just GORGEOUS! For scaly face you can get something called ivermectin from your avian vet. It's not too expensive for a little bottle and it'll last you ages. It's one drop on the back of their neck and then you do that again in a fortnight. I've found it clears scaly face up super quick! :dbb1: A good thing to have around.
  2. Do you follow a similar plan yourself, Daz, when preparing your birds for breeding? Just curious as to what your opinions are on the topic. :bluebudgie:
  3. They're all very beautiful looking. Are you're show budgies in a separate aviary to the others?

    She's such a cutie pie!

It's the look of "there's only room for one nasty hen in this aviary" - they were busy fighting and i seemed to get a picture of a small break in the battle.
  6. I think 10 grams for a budgie is more likely. :(Laughing out loud):

Caffeine is a no-no for budgies so i wouldn't try it - i've deffinitely not heard of it before.
  8. Steve and Lady Steve. I love it! Great pics!
  9. Merlin looks nice a chunky like Oz!! :(Laughing out loud): And Pretty is looking pretty like always. You've got such gorgeous boys!
  10. From the video i would say that even a vet couldn't have helped it by that stage. I've had quite a few budgies look like this and it's when they're literally about to die. I'm so sorry that your birdy died, it's just heartbreaking and not knowing why is even worse.
  11. Can't you just see him plotting something naughty in that brain of his!!! And he was too, seconds later he jumped onto the camera, (Laughing out loud)! While i'm at it here are some other cute pics i got of Mr Sexy Blinks. I didn't use any zoom for this picture - he let me shove the camera right in his face!

Check out how handsome Oswald is looking these days! This is us "play wrestling" - he loves it! Side effects of living with Mr Sexy Pants too long - he's got quite a flirty side now. Giving mummy a kissy....awwww!

Here's some photos of a few of the aviary budgies i took this afternoon: Lime Gherkin Bubble Kala and Spongebob Yahtzee and Gerri Asparagus Jelly

If your budgie has diarhea then it needs to be seen by an avian vet who can figuire out WHY it has it and how to stop it. You should also have your budgie with diarhea separated from your other two budgies (going by your profile info) to stop them getting it too.

I love the triplets there. So cute!

I feed both "soft food" as it's called here and the sprouted seeds from time to time and they've never been turned down by my birds. :hap:

I'm not sure about the crackers or the added vitamins - they're probably okay though. When i make my own egg food i use a hard boiled egg, some wholemeal bread crumbs and a little bit of seed. I just mush it all together so that the egg isn't really wet feeling (it's less messy when they throw it everywhere this way :hap:). I usually add some grated carrot or other finely chopped veggies too.
  18. Personally i think it's feral, however, Blinkie and Ozzie will only eat the leafy bit. The aviary birds scoff the lot down, (Laughing out loud). I'm yet to see which bit the tiels will eat.
  19. That's great to hear! :hap:

When i see a spider in my aviary i get the hose and blast it with a jet of water and once it falls to the ground i continue hosing it at high power to drown it. That's the only way I can kill a spider myself - otherwise i get dad. :hap:
  21. :(Laughing out loud): What a little acrobat!! You gotta love her. :hap:

Looks an awful lot like Ozzie wrestling with my fingers which is all fun. Is it painful biting?
  23. OMG!! Squee is just so full of personality! How can i not LOVE her? :ausb:
  24. Oh no! I hope Oscar gets better real quick!
  25. If he doesn't seem to be drinking water maybe offer him some lettuce? That has a high water content. I was so scared when i saw this post that you were going to say Jim had died. I remember what a special little budgie he is. Hope he continues to recover.
