He hasn't. He's still in Tim's room, (Laughing out loud). I just always have him out cause Tim never seems to think of it.

Here's some pics i took the other day. These two are becoming inseparable. They're always chasing each other around and smooching up to each other. Lil Fizzy Mr Handsome Ozzie Check out that muscly body And here's some of His Royal Stinkiness :glare: Saved my fav for last: Awwwwww!
  12. Blinkie says a few things: kissy kiss, come here, gotcha kissy, Blinkie. Then he's got his sounds: farts, rasberries, kiss, dripping tap, and he mimics my laugh (usually when he's being naughty :glare:).

Well Tim feeds, waters and cleans the cage (when i tell him to). But i seem to be the one who gets him out to play all the time.

Well Fizzy technically isn't mine...i needed to fill a spot in my sig. I might make a new avatar with him today though. Well it took a long time of sitting and staring at a blank screen (poetry isn't really my thing), but once i got the idea it didn't take long.
  15. This is a little poem i wrote for a Creative Writing class i'm doing at school. I thought i would share it! So You’re Just A Budgie Belinda Pye So you’re just a budgie, that’s what they all say Yet my heart bursts with joy, just to see you play So you’re just a budgie, so small and cheap and plain But your sweet bubbly chatter, always dulls my pain So you’re just a budgie, nothing interesting or new How I love your sleek smooth feathers, so beautiful and blue So you’re just a budgie, to be caged all day long I would let you fly free always, even though they say it’s wrong So you’re just a budgie, an easy childhood pet What a devilish little mind you have, underestimated I bet So you’re just a budgie, that’s all they’ll ever see Know my friend, you’re more than that, you mean the world to me

His normal self is still a hump-a-maniac...just not this extreme.
  17. Bea replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Behaviour
Well with nothing to hump, the budgie cage is peaceful AND there have been no runny poos at all (there have been on and off for a while, i'm now certain it was stress on both boys part). Covering 14 hrs would be hard because the boys wouldn't get the time out they usually do and someone wouldn't always be around to uncover them if we left it that long.

Nup, fish is in my room and there's no filter going anyway so there's no sound of running water. I've covered him earlier tonight, will do that the next few nights too and see if he improves.
  19. Just looking at those photos makes me feel itchy. I'm sure the ivermectin will clear it up within a few weeks. The first FAQ you linked to was one of my birds, and it didn't take long for the ivermectin to clear her up.

Thank god he's not laying eggs!!! With the cage now half empty of toys he's not humped anything today...yet. They have a ropey preeny toy and i thought i saw him *thinking* about humping that. I was ready to strangle him because that toy makes no noise and i've never seen either of them touch that toy before.

Changed position of all the perches and toys, same as what i would usually do... If only you could bargin with budgies... *pleads* Blinkie, if you stop humping i will ... give you a lifetime supply of spray millet and always let you help yourself to my bananas. Now you've made me want to go to a show just to see the posh and proper show budgies humping their cages.

Cull doesn't necessarily mean kill. It means remove from breeding stock. This could be by selling the affected offspring and perhaps removing the parents from the breeding birds. One of our members, Daz, had a lovely little feather duster budgie show up in one of his nests and he loved and cared for the little cutie until he passed.

I would really rather not, they are friendly most of the time (anytime Stinks isn't humping) and Ozzie gets really stressed when i seperate them. If there's a way i can reduce the humping without removing Ozzie, i would like to try.
  24. Bea replied to Bea's topic in Budgie Behaviour
I don't care if he's humping a perch, but i do care if it's causing him to attempt to murder Ozzie. Finding him a mate isn't a solution, it doesn't make sense how it could be? It would just make him untame and give him a temporary way to relieve his frustration.
  25. For about the last 5 days all i've heard is the jingle of Blinkie's ducky toy as he holds it and humps his perch like crazy. I've NEVER seen him this "excitable" in all his life. While he used to be particular about which toy he held and which perch he humped, he'll now grab whatever is closest and hump rope perches, branches, and even the cage bars. It's INSANE. And poor little Ozzie, when Blinkie gets in one of his "happy" moods Oz gets bullied for being too near (in the same cage). The tension escalated in the budgie cage a little while ago so i've taken out all the toys Blinkie's been using to hold while he humps (plus another one which he found soon after i removed the others) and he's finally given up, sitting chattering evil plans to himself. By taking all his humping toys out, there are now few toys left in the cage at all and i feel like a mean mummy about this. I've recently rearranged their cage completely and i've been making an effort to get them to bed earlier so they're getting more sleep, but instead of getting better he's getting WORSE. Threats don't seem to work either - "If you can't keep it in your feathers, you're not going to have any toys at all!" only got a filthy look in response. So, any tips?
