I have a tip to reduce the amount of seed that gets on the floor. If you place the seed cups right down the bottom (where the wire ends and plastic starts if you know what i mean) then they can't spill the seed everywhere. Also if you measure the seed instead of filling the cup to the top even if they jump in the seed dish not too much seed should escape. There's never ANY seed anywhere around Blinkie's cage.

Bit late but i'm pretty sure it's every 3 hours between 6am and 11pm with one night feed.
  3. They sure are keen to have a family!

The vet will be able to clean her up and treat her for any possible infections as well as give you tips on how to prevent this sort of thing happening again. Seeing a vet would definitely be the best thing to do. I hope she's alright.

Well Blinkie and his eyelash preening talents have helped me to feel much better. I'm going shopping with my friend soon. I even went to her Year 10 Graduation thingy and of course got a coughing fit right in the middle of it.

Croups a icky cough that sounds like a seal barking. I've had a couple of hot chocolates which made my throat feel a bit better and Blinkie has been preening my eyelashes for me (one less thing i have to do later :ausb:). I think mums hoping i lose my voice. I just want to get better so i can go to my friends place tomorrow and see Harry Potter on Thursday.

Well everyone is saying that with croupe as you get older your airways get bigger....something along those lines which means you can't get it. mum told the person she was talking to and the person said "you can't get croupe at her age!". I don't think you can give human viruses to budgies either but i just wanted to double check.

Lucky me has woken up with horrible, yukky croupe (sp?) this morning. Very p****d off cause i've been told that you should grow out of that but apparently i haven't. Anyways, a virus like this can't be passed from human to budgie can it? I don't want to make Blinks sick.

    Lisa's a lacewing isn't she? They're all beautiful!
  12. If Luke loves his Trill then he loves millet. The main seeds in Trill are different types of millet so i expect that he's just a bit confused by the apperance of a millet spray.

    She's really pretty....so's her friend.

For xmas all the budgies get seed treats. The outside budgie get a giant seed ring which Gerri usually sits in the middle and hogs it.
  15. I don't really see a budgie using one for anything except nesting.
  16. Yeah, i've thought about that. I'll take a picture today or tomorrow and again once it's all cleared up.

I'm guessing she's just not going to breed. If she's been with 3 males and not showed interest in any of them then she's saying loud and clear that she's not the motherly type.

Seeing as the bleeding has stopped i would just keep an eye on it. If it starts to bleed again put some corn flour (plain flour if you don't have corn flour) on the cut to stop the bleeding.
  19. All this weird names for colours is REALLY confusing!! Can't everyone just use the common names that everyone can understand....well, the ones that are more self explanatory? Pleeeeease?? All the mutant talk is giving me a headache.
  20. (Laughing out loud)! I would give them hugs and kisses if they would let me. They are psycho! They escape and go nuts in my room if i even try. Good news, Tirikke is looking a lot better. The crustiness around her face has lost the honey comb look. Hopefully it'll clear up completely soon.
  21. I'm so glad he's alright! You must be so relieved! That's a gorgeous photo by the way.
  22. Hope he's okay. A few of my budgies are missing toenails and even toes from fighting over breeding boxes and stuff. They're all perfectly happy.
  23. Come on peoples!! Have a guess!! :bluebudgie:

You need to mmake your account public. :bluebudgie:
  25. Well they would be spoiled if they didn't hate me so much. Besides, they're going out to the aviary so not much point getting them used to hugs and kisses.
