  1. I had exactly the same problem. Take her to the vet, prefferrably an avian vet. Mine was taken to a normal vet and she got cut by the scissors they used. It cost me $70.
  2. They are blue cheekpatches. But my mauve chick has grey cheek patches? :fingerscrossed:
  3. More bubs?
  4. In the wild you have unlimited space and breeding areas. In captivity it's a bunch of birds in the aviary with few nesting choices. The hens want the best nests so they fight.
  5. You're going to have to name it Fatzo! The biggest albino, does it have abnormal feathering on the head or is that just it rubbing itself the wrong way?

    Wrong! GB?

    Is she alright?

They look like two girls from here. The second one's cere looks white-ish. Who advised on the genders?

RIP Nibbles. You were gone from this world too soon, but though your life was shorter than it could have been, it was full.
  10. I do not judge you like that and I doubt any others are as well. Some on here have made mistakes with colony breeding and just don't want you to learn the hard way. It is your decision and if you make mistakes I'm sure you will acknowledge that we tried to help.
  11. Hi. My bubs are sooo much better! Mum and Dad made me put them outside as they didn't think they were sick anymore. Glad to say Thimble has not vomited since yesterday. I have plastic over the cage, which traps they warm air and mostly keeps out the cold.
  12. Amy, do they do interstate? Houman, I've read that that stuff has too much salt in it. They are all doing well. While I was at school mum moved them outside as she did not believe me ( that they were sick ) as they weren't fluffed up because they were under a heat lamp. They are back inside. I watered them with a suringe, it went well. All I did was squeese a little drop out and put it near their beaks. Off topic here- I attempted to make Marigold a foot brace as the swelling went down but she doesn't use it much. The vet is free on Monday so..... Hopefully they will be ALL going. Apparently they do a bit with birds there, YES! :hmm: They look pretty normal, but I'm wary. While I was at school Thimble choked up more seeds, I found them on the bottom of the cage, covered with slime. Could I put sugar or something in their water to give them a boost like Houman said?
  13. She both regurgitated and flung seed around. I don't know where to send the poo in the mail. What could it be?

    Yep! Umm, Houman?
  15. They are looking much better apart from Thimble, who I'm really worried about as she has regurgitated whole seed. They are really warm. My set up is quite drafty, but dad got me something for that today. I am terrified, as I read up on Megabacteria and then Thimble has regurgitated whole seeds. We have no avian vets within 2 hours, and I have school. The normal vet is full until Monday.
  16. I have posted the same thing 5 times accidently. I AM tired.
  17. I am still in shock. I have been reading up on illnesses.
  18. They are extremly warm at the moment.
  19. Thank you. They are doing much better in the hospital cage. Lexi ( one not showing sypmtoms) was not struck down because I took her in to school. Honestly, I thought Thimble wouldn't make it this far but she is pulling through. I'll try and get some pics but I don't want to stress them. I checked the newspaper on the bottom of the cage and there is some brown stuff, but that could be from me adding new foods. Mostly it is normal. Lexi is in a tiny cage next to the hospital cage. EDIT: Temperature suddenly dropped from 25 to 12 degrees in the past few days.
  20. I have had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach this week and now I know why. 5/6 of my budgies are sick. I found 4 huddled at the bottom of the cage. Could the sudden change in the weather have anything to do with it? They are in the hospital cage with 2 hotwater bottles and a heat lamp. Thimble looks so weak.... I don't know what to do. We have no avian vet and the normal ones are full. I am just so shocked, they were fine this morning.
  21. Then I think my birds are getting scaly face. Have to check.

We don't have an avian vet and I don't know where to make an appointment. No, she didn't charge us. When I said swollen I meant her foot. She still isn't gripping the perch properly.
