What Is A Brown-wing?
Thank you RIPbudgies! I thought of brown wings when I saw this picture but it is probably cinnamon. http://www.parrotforums.com/gallery/showim...ostid=99#post99 I'm not sure this will work.

My Budgie Laid Her 1st Egg
Do not touch the eggs! They do not need to be handled. You may candle the eggs when they are about a week old, with a flexible torch. When she stops laying she will just suddenly not lay one day. Then you wait.

What Is A Brown-wing?
I came across a site that said they had dark eyes, instead of plum like a cinnamon.

What Is A Brown-wing?
I am a bit confused about brown-wings. I read something about how they have darker markings than a cinnamon wing, is this true? I came across a picture on another forum and it looked too dark to be cinnamon, though that could be due to lighting.

Hello fire bird! I have chickens but only one silkie. My frizzle died today. I don't know why but I have a feeling about respiratory infection along with a blocked crop.

Points To Consider...............
I remember when I was 4 a friend used to breed budgies. I was allowed to hold a two week old chick and saw a one day old one with eggs. She colony bred but never had any problems. I researched everywhere for about ayear and a bit before I bred this year. I do have parental support as long as I pay most of the vet bills ( don't worry I have a heap save up). It was a really good experience and I do understand that breeding does not always go to plan. For now I am giving it a rest, until I upgrade my current cage. I'm almost there now. Exellent topic by the way. (yeah I know I chatter on too much)

Dead Baby
Isn't he a bit young to jump the box? Or is he trying to get away from you opening the box?

Hello
I'd say female but for the last two pics. With flash looks male. I'm going with female. I think females can talk, just not much if at all. It really depends on the bird. Most females don't talk. I'm not 100% accurate on that because I've never actually tried to teach a budgie to talk. Nice aviaries! If I was you I wouldn't colony breed. It often ends in disaster, hens eating other hens chicks, attacks ect. Of course I have no experience to go from this, but a lot of other members will tell you the same thing.

Making A Baby Budgie Friend For Houman
Well done! GB, why don't you get yourself a tame bub? You could go into a great business, taking down the local pet store. Houman, does Tammy sleep in your bed?

Budgie.. Egg Stealer?
I meant for if somebody is actually tampering with the birds. LILBABYBUDGIES, are your breeding cages off the ground? Wouldn't the little snakes attack the birds if they were sitting on the eggs? I doubt one little snake could do that. The take days, weeks to digest one meal. They don't hunt in pairs either. All snakes in Vic are deadly and hunt using their poison, appart from the rare Murray- Darling carpet python ( I think its called that ). I don't think there is a snake problem.

Budgie.. Egg Stealer?
Wouldn't predators leave traces of egg shells, blood ect? We have an automatic light that turns on when it detects movement, would that work?
