  1. Yes, but it is considerably uncommon. We can't jump to conclusion that every brown-cered budgie is sick. Also, the budgie in question doesn't have a coloured-up cere yet. I still stand by female, 95%
  2. I still say female, nostrils have clear white rings for me. Time will tell
  3. I may try this next season. I assume you wouldn't give any greens/veggies?
  4. Thanks Dean_NZ, so as long as the cock is rearing to go, and i put him in a breeding cage then hen should follow suit.? If the hen is totally out of condition, I wouldn't. Giving the birds extra breeding suplements (can't spell -.- ) a couple weeks before should help kick in, but if the hen is totally out of condition I wouldn't. Any bird will produce it's best chicks when they are at their peak.
  5. I know that but i submitted a picture from that can you answer any of the catagories? So what your asking is mutation the budgie is? He is a normal sky blue. Unless you know his parents, you wouldn't know what he is split for.
  6. Variety: It's mutation Split to: Whatever the bird is split for, eg lutino. Line: What breeding you have it in.
  7. He would be humping everything..................alive and not alive....drinkers, aviary wire, feed dishes etc. He would be trying to chat up all the girls in the aviary and some of the boys as well he will be trying to "step aboard" every female there is and sometimes get so frisky he will try to mount the males Males mounting males.... the story of my life. My boys must be pretty "randy", coz I go in there and they come and say hello
  8. How is it going LeanneR?
  9. haha, just what I was getting at. You should seperate each bird, and sterilise everything. Take the birds to a vet and tell him that you didn't quarintine. He can try and perform tests to diagnose it. If another budgie dies, keep it and take it to an AVIAN vet, who can perform an autopsy.
  10. I think that whatever is occuring in your flock is a disease, and if you don't act soon your whole flock may be dead. When was the last time you bought a new budgie?
  11. Yes.... No need to rub it in (joking ) What is the Kakoschke pair?
  12. As long as you kept the aviary clean, I don't think it is a problem. And if the animals are healthy. This is taken from a article on a hybrid bird: Quails are fine, but I have had my budgies disrupt a nest the hen was sitting on.They ate her eggs, chicks inside. As long as I take eggs out, it is fine.
  13. Yup, I found my bed! Sorry GB, but it is I! aka, not kaz I guess nubbly.... its about that time of night again
  14. I think they would be fine I know someone who has guniea pigs in her aviary, and all is well. The aviary would need to be large neough for both animals though, budgies and guniea pigs.
  15. 4 eggs now Yup, this is her first clutch. I will candle them soon, probably tonight or tommorow.
  16. darn it, we are so sad when we get down to posting after each other over and over haha It isn't cheating, it is stategic playing! Nubbly?

  19. Gosh, I am feeling so blonde right now haha. Well, 3rd and 4th egg have arrived, she is juggling 7 eggs in nest. I will take some foster eggs out I think, they are clear.
