The egg looks too dark which indicates a dead in shell chick. At least you have one fat baby Thank you Kaz, I thought so from another recent forum post on "egg colors"....should I dispose of it or wait till she tosses it out? In total she laid 6 eggs and a few seemed to be this colour...what would have caused them to die? When I changed the bedding yesterday, the egg was quite warm.....I think this is her first clutch.. Thanks in advance

The Goal Is To Breed Clearwings With Clear Wings!
Sorry for the questions Nubbly, but if the recessives and clearwings dec's etc...are genetically smaller.. then why do they have to be bigger to show them? Why is the show standard different to what they are naturally? Hope that makes sence.......

M6B....When I took the picture, no there wasn't, I have since put in some of that recycled paper kitty litter (Dr Harry brand), I have read on here about the oat's , if that's good I will get some tomorrow. Update.....she tossed out another egg today... , So still only 1 baby and now only 2 other eggs, one is very light.......

The Goal Is To Breed Clearwings With Clear Wings!
Sorry if a dumb question....but why are they smaller Nubbly5?, compared to the other varieties?
-
Billy And Grace
Thanks C_S_B I still have 1 baby....I checked it out this afternoon and it's going really well....2 of the other eggs are very light so I'd say they are empty, the other one is much heavier so I guess it's a waiting game...

Don't worry DrNat, I will ensure she has a good break, won't do anything with her till next year.. The other pair have been named "Romeo and Juliet" by my daughter, as they won't leave each other alone !! Thanks again....
