Hi, Well I've had more bad luck with the hen that didn't feed a newly hatched egg yesterday, thanks to Kaz that is now all okay. Checked this morning - only 3 eggs - checked when I got home, 1 dead baby, again no sign of shell..... I cupped baby in my hands for 20 mins breathing warm air, kind of knew there was no hope but wanted to try anyway... :emoticon112: Is this yellow belly? If it is have I done something wrong?? or has something else happened? What do I do with the remaining 2 eggs, do I foster? She is a first time mother and at the moment I don't trust her with the next hatchling.....

okay....going now.......It had food in it's crop!! I guess I was lucky she fed it..... I will remember that for next time though.....

I checked this morning and no chicks in the nest......only eggs. Checked at 4pm, 1 chick screaming/wriggling for food, there was no egg shell in the nest or cage so I was "assuming" it hatched in the morning sometime.....gave wet egg and biscuit at 4.15pm...... by 7pm still screaming for food, empty crop sounding weaker.....I decided to foster to another nest...first time I have done this so I am a bit unsure, have I stuffed up???? Should I check the foster mum has fed this baby in the next few hours?? "I need a drink'....

So what does the Vet suggest....just wait and see? How is Nibbles doing?

No Elly, that is since Monday..... I have taken her to the Vet, they said it was worms which she has been treated for - she was okay for a few weeks and now it's happening again........

I came home from work on Monday to find my Hen that the Vet said had worms with a very dirty vent and tail again... I removed her again from the avairy to a seperate cage, these are the photos of her poop taken this morning.... She is eating/drinking.....not that active....but not fluffed up. Where do I go from here? * Should I worm again? * Should I give a course of antibiotics?
