Hi Rachelm... As Kaz has said she shouldn't be used for breeding... She could have a dislocated hip...this happened to one of my birds and I had to have her euthanized, she too sat on the perch like that - one leg okay the other to the side...

It's 6 weeks next weekend since these 2 guys have been in quarantine, I'm thinking of putting them in the avairy next weekend - they are 100% better with the scaleyface they had and are showing no sign of illness. I was more worried about the cause of death of my green hen, as the 2 boy's used to feed her. I have come to the conclusion that the mites killed her, I thought maybe she had other illnesses but if the other 2 boys have not been effected - (they were both constantly feeding her, maybe they knew she was ill) then I'm thinking the mites.....?? Some might think me a little naive but I never would have thought that scaley mites could kill a budgie....But then I have never seen them as bad as how she had them either.... R.I.P my sweet girl at least your death has made me realize how serious it can be....
