Sky&sweety's Mutation
Sweety:violet, dominant pied, cinnamon. Sky: sky blue, dominant pied, opaline Clearflight is only when the flight feathers are clear and the rest of the wings are fully marked. A normal dominant pied can have clear flights due to the pied factor.

Totally Heart Broken. Hen Just Killed Her Partner
I'm so sorry about this Splat. How horrible. I would get rid of the hen too. He was a really nice bird.

Candeling Eggs
helpful picture but also keep in mind if you can candle without touching the eggs it is better, so only do this once if need be around the 5 day mark to see the small veins.

Dog And Budgies
I've seen that show AFTER watching 'its me or the dog' the English chick and I mus say she is the better of the two, or at lest the show is. They show more of what she does to get the dog under control I feel. Not sure why I watch things like this cause I normally end up yelling at the people in shock that there can be folks that dumb out there.

Dog And Budgies
Sorry It might be funny but this type of obsessive behaviour should be looked into and stopped. Weather with the use of drugs or distraction with other toys. Border collies are bed for this rounding up problem since this is what they where red for and now people are keeping them in small backyards.

Budgie Baby Outcome?
The offspring will really help to pin point his type. I have heard of some DEC's getting rings in the eye. From what I know BEC's should have some faint markings still.

What Kind Of This Mutation?
I almost agreed with you at first Norm then read it a second time before realizing what was off.

Red Budgies
Yes that would be but as yet one has not been bred only those two gene separately.

Dog And Budgies
I'm not saying that a dog originally bred to hunt bird can not be trained just that you need to understand the reasons behind the behaviors.

Tweetaville Breeding
Update: Poka is a Miracle worker. Ringo the cow that bossed the whole aviary and did not want a bar of Kree last year is already responding to his flirting! Squeaker has been removed after doing an 'escape at all cost' act and ended up hiding in the nest box for over an hour. At the moment Pie is paired with Thistle. I have since found out the reason Squeaker wanted out was to return to his love..... his mother The other two cages are not doing a lot yet.

Can Anyone Help Me Please.
Budgie just new to the family can take a while to settle down. Play some soft music around becuase pure silents means danger to a budgie. It's great that you are talking to Bluie (or is it Snowy?) do so every time you are near the cage even if just walking by. As for eating blow lightly on the seed dish to see if empty seed hulls are there. If you have millet sprays then add one to the box as this is an easy and favourite seed for them to eat. Also if your cage doesn't have a wire bottom sprinkle seeds on the ground for him to find. If it does have wire add another small shallow dish on the ground. Some birds are unable to find the seed dish at first and the lower or sprinkled seed helps them eat until they find it. Also I closed your other topic since the same question was brought up here.

Red Budgies
Yes we all dream about a red budgie or a total black budgie ( this is getting closer but not fully there) To make a hybrid you need two very close species and I don't believe there is one close enough for budgies. The other thing is hybrids are usually infertile.

Clear Flights & Dominant Pied:
with the new system you can highlight the words you want in quotes and hit the speech bubble icon. they will put in the quote tags for you. I guess to work out that pied you need to do a few test breeds, such as the hen to a recessive pied to make sure she isn't split.

Tweetaville Breeding
:hap: This morning Poka is still trying to flirt his best. Ringo actually laid an egg on the floor last night which shocked me. I know she was well bonded to her sire but her poops where not large as an egg laying hens should be. Squeaker is still climbing all over the cage looking for a way out. Kree might be a bit mixed he actually went into the box, Berry hasn't even done so yet, although he is still being very pushy. I think he needs to learn he art of wooing. Reepicheep and Kazza are not doing much she has looked into the box but he isn't trying hard to flirt wiht her the few times he has been told off.

Dog And Budgies
As Armchairangel states you can train the dogs and the easiest way is to get them to know the cage is off limits, that straight away gives the birds a safe area for later training. But a professional trainer would help allot. Also keep in mind the dogs behavioral nature. Cockers where breed as gun dogs ( or also known as bird dogs) to got out hunting and either flush out the birds or/and collect the shot down birds.

Clear Flights & Dominant Pied:
the DEC bird is a dominant and recessive pied genes together so you can. Any chance you know what thread that comment was made in? I'm still with the idea that the Clearflight pied is also the dutch dominant pied under a different name. I believe that those that state they have a clearflight and dominant pied bird are simply reading the body markings incorrectly and only have a dominant (as in Australian dominant or banded pied) that has lost all markings on the wings.

Lutino
at this age the cere will be changing to the adult colour, which if you have a lutino (red eyes) will stay the baby pink for males and change to the normal brown for girls.
