Hi New Here :)
Welcome Sammy. I hope there is someone closer to you with an answer soon on where you could find a fun new friend. It might be an idea to read up on introducing a new pet to the house thread and maybe how to sex a young budgie if you are after a male. There is help in our FAQ area or do a search for threads. and welcome again

Not To Sure What Colour
Yes he is a yellowface type 2 or golden face. I would wonder about the pied since he has strong green markings on the chest and pale marks on the rest of the body. He also has a white cheek patch rather than the standard blue which is a sign of a pied or possible a spangle, although they normally have mixed cheek patches. Try really hard for a back shot.

Cage Lining
I've done that before Bea. Set it up for their cage and found something of interest and so swapped paper so I could read it later.

A Little Surprise
Yes Norm the ones that still have markings and colour on the body are SF spangles, they got one normal gene from a parent and one spangle gene from the other.

What Mutation
I closer shot of the cere would really help to tell the gender. As to the colour s/he is a yellowface type 2 recessive pied.

A Little Surprise
So what you are saying is she is totally white but you know that she has the cinnamon gene becuase of the eyes and it is being masked by the double factor spangle gene. Is this correct?

A Little Surprise
I'm not sure about the DF spangle cinnamon. DF are meant to be all white or all yellow. Granted I'm not 100% sure how the cinnamon reacts with the genes, s/he might only be a cinnamon with very washed out body colour and markings. Would love to see pictures later once fully grown.

First Bird
I think it was only because a few days back they had a budgie on a kids TV show having a ball outside with clipped wings and I wanted to scream at the program for sending out that bad message. Not to mention the round cage they later showed the bird in. But I have Gone

Some Of My New Bubs:
The two being hidden are YF cobalt opaline spangles for sure. The colour of the cheek patch might help with working out violet or not. If they are then the violet gene is carried on the dark factor. The one on top (youngest) looks to be YF sky blue opaline spangle.
