  1. Yes she would be split. Greywing is a recessive gene. A bird is either greywing, clearwing or dilute not a mix of 2 or 3 of them.
  2. I would think a Blue recessive pied would go well, then you have a chance to find out if he is split or not. With a whiteface blue you will then get some whitefaces as well as yellowfaces.
  3. wow nice birds I want your mauve pied in the first picture and your green spangle
  4. budgies are good at hiding their sickness, when out and about with you around he will act as if nothing is wrong...while he has the energy to do so. Once along and feeling safe in his cage he will fluff up to help with body temperature. Taking him to an avian vet would be best to get a full check out, that way if nothing is wrong you can have peace of mind and if there is you can start treatment.
  5. I would guess about 2 weeks old. Yes the mum can take care of the along if need be, add some millet in the box to help her and if you can seed and water close to the box. Have you taken the dad out to check why he can't fly?
  6. Agree with Elly but she forgot the spangle you have 50% change of spangle young.
  7. once a month
  8. sorry I'm not seeing the cinnamon, also hello cheeta :ausb:
  9. All those names and I get another E :(Laughing out loud): Eara
  10. are you colony breeding or close breeding Libby?
  11. Don't forget about the Budgie of the Month contest: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=16232
  12. Greetings birdluv
  13. Update It's been a week now, cage one are not showing a lot of interest in each other, although Reepicheep does go in the box. In cage 2 Kree still flirts a lot and Berry doesn't pay any attention. Cage 3 Poka and Ringo are still bonding, both with enter the box. Cage 4 Pie and Thistle are slowly starting to bond.
  14. :(Laughing out loud): He is a stunner.
  15. yep you have a spangle green.
  16. My little Freckle. She is seven years old now :hap:
  17. 400X Magnification seems low for the max amount. Why I was asking was I saw one in a catalog as a kids toy and the sizes where 100x, 600x and 1200x Magnification. Was interested to know if that would be strong enough to test things out or not.
  18. Put in your best entry for Budgie of the Month. Every one has until the 31st of August to enter a picture. Three judges have been picked for this months judging, all other members/site promoters/G.Mods are welcome to enter. One picture per member per month. Please remember to keep to the board rules of 450 maximum. If this is not met then you picture will not be accepted. Any post you make to this thread will not show up so please do not repost. Good luck to all that enter.
  19. For the few out there that have a Microscope for checking the bird's heath I was wondering what amount of magnification is needed?
  20. yep that's right, 2 dark factors. a bird with one is called dark green
  21. how long have you got until this would be needed? - Purchasing a Budgie - Pet Store vs Breeder I think the important bit to add under here is what to look for in the healthy bird/living environment when buying your bird. Are you wanting folks here to help with putting in the information? Or just to add a note about this site in the booklet?
  22. " Five, six, seven .... Is she even watching?"
  23. Yes If the bird has two dark factors then the violet for that bird is carried on the dark factor gene.
