Green And Blue Feathers On The Same Budgie
I know that they are a mix of many things, but the fact i was pointing out was that the Dilute gene (greywings, clearwings and dilutes) are used in the breeding of them, maybe this was how Rainbows were first discovered and then mixed in with the other types to create more interesting birds.

Budgie Leg Colours
colour of the legs are due to the mutation of the bird. Ino's, Recessive pied and others types that remove pigment from the bird have pink legs, other 'normal' types have the blue tone. I'm sure i'm missing heaps of other types but they were the ones that came first to mind

What Sex?
pictures would be great to judge better, or tell us the colour of the 'blue' as Kaz states pale blue is normal for a hen out of condition but dark blue WITH brown means the male isn't good for breeding.

Angelica's First Chick
great pictures.

Green And Blue Feathers On The Same Budgie
are not 'rainbow' budgies made up of greywings?
-
Budgie Puzzle
i can see it fitting, and it is more probable to get a dark green Opaline from that pairing. Your only change of proving it is if she is split YF blue and throws a YF baby.

New To Forum..... And Budgies
stace as has some great info there, the cage advise is great, wider is much better than hight. good luck with her, i think you were confused with the gender as she isn't in breeding condition (too young) which gives the hens the well known brown cere but a pale blue/white cere. She doesn't have any tail feathers by the looks of it which will affect her flight.

Budgie Puzzle
didn't think it would be easy as that. So you are still not sure which pair produced chick 1??
-
Weird Cere?
very normal, all hens get that flaky bumpy cere.

Budgie Puzzle
after listing out possible outcomes for all the pairs in my head (ouch haven't done that thinking for a while lol) I came to the same as Dean. Then i looked at the babies. Baby 1 looks to be male to me which then makes pair 3 as the parents as that is the only Opaline hen available from the outcomes. So unless the chick is a hen then it is back to what dean states either pair one or two baby 2 is harder I can see the defining factor between the last two pairs.

Cage Aggression
the first moult is like a come of age for budgies and can start from anywhere from 4 months to 8months. Inside budgies tend to start later than outside ones. But after that it depends on the temp in your house (their environment) some can moult around every 3 months others a little longer. I'm with Elly, take a step back (or two) with the training and bonding and get him back to the idea that you are his friend. Great idea with the greens, anything that will temp him to come towards your hand willing. When you try this make sure you have some time to spend sitting and waiting as it may take him a while to settle then be tempted forward.

Your Budgie's Diet?
I can't say about the food as i use a good quality finch mix from the produce store near me. but here is a picture for finger drawers http://www.borehamwoodbudgies.co.uk/finger%20drawers.jpg it is just a small container that clips to the bars of the cage

Taylor - Aquarius is spangle so 50% of his off spring will be spangle as well (when matched to a normal) The Budgie Guy - you are right to have 7 is a big number for a clutch, means they are great parents.

Tweetaville
Yes they are, full brothers in fact. Kringle is Grey-green and Squash is dark green. Wish you luck GB, the backup plans are good. I'm willing to wait til after summer.

Would Love To Know What Type Of Budgies I Have
As stated she is a skyblue normal, they all have a aqua look in real life.

New Budgie Decisions
I would make sure you talk to the breeder about his birds, and what he looks for in his show birds. Ask him about everything and explain to him (or her) what you are wanting to achieve with your selection.

Show Cage Seed
wonderful birds, love the recessive pied hen.

Merry Christmas Everyone
Merry Christmas to all, both feathered family and human ones Travel safely on the roads and enjoy the day.

Male Or Female?
i think it is awesome as well. I'm not set on recessive pied, there are some signs that match dominant pied. picture one really makes me think this. But only time will tell for sure. If as Nubbly said the cere stays pink and he does't get iris ring (white rings in the eye) with his big moult which starts around 6 months of age, then he is recessive pied. If the cere turns the dark blue and the rings appear he is dom pied.

Some Advice Please
could we get some pictures? moults can take some time to finish but there normally isn't bald spots while it is happening.
-
Opinions On Mutation
So it was something simple. very easy to work out when you know the parentage.
-
Male Or Female?
the coloured bit at the top of the beak surrounding the nostrils is called the Cere and is used to determines the gender of budgies. young males: bright even pink colour older males (about 6 months onwards): even dark blue tone young females: mixed colours, pale blue or white older females: light to dark brown, flaky looking cere.

Male Or Female?
Male , and a cute one at that. Nice to see some natural branches but remove the sandpaper on them, that is bad for their feet.

Tweetaville
Thanks Kaz. I need to find a tree I can attack in the parkland near me to give them so fresh leaves. they went nuts on some grass (sprouted seed) that I poked in the wire the other day. More so then they did the millet. Looking into breeding next year, after the bad summer heat ... if that arrives nothing but rain here of late but if I set them up now I'm sure the heat will arrive at the wrong time (sitting on eggs)
