Take Nest Box Away?
If they have emptyed the nest agai n( klicked the ggs out) then this would be a good time to remove the box and leave them be until they are old enough. For furture referance you don't have to add a box if you don't think your birds are ready to breed even if the hen shows the signs, even if you see them mating.

My New Budgie!
golden faces look like a green but are blue based. with each moult more and more yellow is added to the feathers.

My New Budgie!
If oyu look closly in the second picture you can see a small iris ring starting to show up. I think this one is a DF spangle. Why do I think goldenface- the patcy look to the yellow and it's not as golden colour like the yellow on a green base bird (look at the colour of yellow on Pauls Fallow.)

Dutch / Recessive / Dominant?
lovley's doing wonderfully Now she does look like a dutch pied, but not having an iris ring, and as the owner I take your word that there is not ring owners are the best at seeing things like that, I would wonder that she isn't. Pied can have a wide range of patterns and it's all random. Half rec. Pied and half normal (headspot pied) is about average for a pair made up on one rec. pied and a normal split for rec. pid (or any other dominant gene)

New To Breeding, Tips On When Time Is Right Needed
Yes that's correct and that will happen at the age of 6 months, but it's not safe to breed with them until after the age of 12 months. Also depending on the time of year and such she will come out of breeding condition and have pale blue cere, still kinda crusty. Yes it take a little while for them to settle in. If you have a spray of millet hang that in for them. It's easy for them to dehull and they love it.

New To Breeding, Tips On When Time Is Right Needed
Just to check you can call the pet shop and ask what age the call adults. There are no dumb question here Iris ring is a white ring that appears in the eye of budgies. Bonding can take from a month to half a year so you see it can vary. If you have them in a breeding cage it can seed up since it is safe nesting site which will get the hen into a breeding cycle.

My New Budgie!
I thought DEC too but as Lovely said the cere should be pink not blue. I think this little one will be a hard one to picture (Laughing out loud). As to the colour which I forgot to talk about before I think he might be a goldenface rather than a green. So I think we need to check if he has iris rings or not before guessing more. Plus is he still in that cage? It looks like rust is all over it to me, which isn't good for them.

My Budgie's Single
well it's not going to hatch, she might get tired of it after a while. I've never actually had this trouble before sorry. You could see what happens in the next few days and if no other egg is laid remove it.
-
My New Budgie!
no it can come at different times (3 months or so) mine got the ring before the cere's changed, but the depth of colour on this one is a match for a grown budgie, (1 year) which means the rings should have shown up by now.

My Budgie's Single
sometimes a simgle female hen can lay and egg, if she is ingoring it just remove it from the cage. She might lay more or she might not. It's up to you if you want to breed with her or keep her inside as a pet.

Tail Bobbing, Pooey Bits And Lying Down
I was told to use Finch food to get the weight down off tootie. This is becuase it doen't have the junkfood seeds in it like Trill does. I think others here use 2 teaspoons of food a day for their budgies, so that should be fine. and yes fruit and vegges each day too.

Luso they are now links which might help you. Looks like a female to me, and a real cutie.

My New Budgie!
could be DF Dominant, but having no markings what so ever around the head and eyes makes me thing otherwise. I thought DF Spangle they can get a small patch of colour where this one has green, but the eye doesn't show an iris ring, and he should have one now if his cere has turned blue. Does he have one and we can't see it?
