While calling around to find someone and I'm not sure what the time is in your side of the world. Cover his cage up at least three sides or if he has a night cover use that the extra sleep will not harm him. If you have a bed light or even a desk lamp that will fit place it as close as possible to the cage and turn on (okay might be an idea to keep the cover away from that area of the cage) He will sit under the light to keep warm which will help him focus on healing rather than trying to keep warm too. And keep movement and noise to a minimum around him.
  4. aww feathering babies can't wait to see them.
  5. I handle mine around the week and half mark, once they have the fluff on their bodies they are okay to handle. If only for a short time around 5-10 mins the mother should reject them, I say shouldn't becuase every hen is different. Check the box each day if another egg appears you can count back and work out when the first one will be due for hatching.

aww look at them being all sweet to each other I had to change your first picture to a link becuase it was over the size limit of 450x 450 for the forums.

Love the name and she is a cutie, I know of a bird that loves to do loop the loops on the branch too Can I ask about the round cage, is it only for Q time or a travel cage? Round ones are not the best for birds, the like to 'hide' in the corner when feeling threatened and there isn't that much room to spread their wings.

Aww Hommer they are wonderful I really like the first one and the last one and that little blue/violet miss in the middle.
  9. Aww poor Spot and Precious Very Cool Not sure if you remember but I was wondering if he had the Ino gene becuase of his cere colour.
  10. Thanks Karen, so do you I'm sick at the moment having at last gotten little Lily's cold SO asked my mother to refill the seed dishes for the birds and she got a nice suprise by been jumped on by Reep, Berry, Squeaker and ..THISTLE ( for a moment before Reep told her off) This is the first time they climbed all over another person besides me.
  11. (Laughing out loud), all my babies have iris rings and the girls both have very dark ceres Tootie Fruity is Texas Clearbody Opaline. and Yes I plan to let them breed again in Spring time. Fingers crossed I get a boy opaline I'm hoping to have found the others I'm after to match with Ringo and two new ones together to start a new family line.
  12. I know they grow up so fast. Thank you for the baby shot to remind me of what she did look like :bluebudgie:
  13. Nope sorry daz. He isn't that thrilled about the camera, and me as well :(Laughing out loud):. But I didn't push him to be a friendly one, he is so happy to be with the rest of them. Thanks Phoebe :bluebudgie:
  14. AWWW look at my Jelly all grown up :bluebudgie:
  15. The Basic Health on is around the same cost I paid. I can't remember completely what the price was for both of them. And I'm glad I got my Mutation book given to me
  16. Thanks all, Jangles normally sits there in a huff when I have the camera out so I was surpised to see some life in her this time. Maybe it's all the flirting Poka has been throwing her way. :(Laughing out loud):
  17. I'm glad to hear he is doing well Smart idea to call Currumbin Bird Sanctuary They would have heap of experience with injured birds.
  18. :(Laughing out loud): It just looks big, he doesn't bite anything but the shirt, like most of the bubs. Just got to be mindful of Berry and Reep when they are on my shoulder, sometimes my earrings are a bit too tempting to them.
  19. I thought it time to update the pictures of my darlings It was a rainy day when I toke these and I think they enjoyed the distraction of me. At one stage I thought I was going to get Poka and Thistle jumping on me since the others where doing so :ausb: Tootie: With Marine: Pie: Jangles: Freckle: Squeaker: Ringo: Thistle: Poka: Reepicheep: Berry: with Echo (top): Group shots:
  20. On a spangle the two long tail feathers are clear, so in a green (and yf) spangle they would be yellow and in a blue white. Kiwi's looks like the normal blue colouring.
  21. Well Looking at the tail it looks dark not a yellow it should be for a spangle. Although I agree the wings to look spangleish. But again the grey flight feather rules out that being the only mutation ( they should be yellow too) full body grey wing seems to fit in my mind.
  22. Kiwi isn't a spangle. Do you want to try again or let me tell ya? Mango- Lutino the yellow is too strong and even to be creamino. Loki- someone stated already - recessive pied Dark green I think, might be olive. Spangle - looks likea dominant pied to me. Possible Double Factor. Either cobalt or mauve. Merlin- Lovey stated Tixie- okay I believe s/he is only a grey wing. Dixie - Lovey stated Who is the one behind her?
  23. Poor little Bluey :budgiedance: Sounds like he is Yellowface type 2 to be 'turning' green now. I'll post this then dash to get my meds to check up for you the other questions. Stop giving him any fresh food for now so that he drinks more water and the meds. I do remember this stuff reacting to the sun so try to keep the water covered. It turns red and darker with more sun and stains the cup. EDIT TO ADD: okay I was given Doxy-t for my birds not Psittavet like I thought. But I think I was told it's the same sort of thing from my vet. I would believe this Psittavet is an antibiotic. As to Probotic I know Vetafarm makes it and it can be found in pet stores. You can't use it while on the meds but it's good to get a rebalance to the digestion track after wards. Did the vet want to re check Bluey after the 7 days? Be careful with the luttuce and Spinach they are full of water and should only be used as a treat. If he likes apple and the rest try sprouts, corn, carrot, mung beans and other dark leafed vegges. Also you can mash a hard boiled egg with them for protein. Of cuase this will all have to wait until he has finished his meds.
  24. There isn't a problem. I've had a smaller male to the hen and they had 5 great babies and a larger male to the hen with no troubles. Just to let you know most of us on here refer to them as PET (normal/americain) budgies and SHOW (english) budgies. Since all budgies are Austalian. Do you have any pictures of the pair for us to see?
  25. interesting, I looked up another genetic page one that works it out for you. The link is around here someonwhere, and it has the same as you.
